Why doth God detest magick?

really is it such an issue? i know humans are prone to abuse power, but why cant we use magick? If that was the case, then why let us have anyhting at all?
there has to be some sort of balance, good and evil, what about white magick? white magick, black magick?
help me, and for those of you who know the origin of magick (im not sure if my knowledge of it is accurate) please feel free to tell me
help me good people, please?

  1. I don’t remember “god” telling me anything. You mean he actually TOLD you he hates magic? If there was really a god wouldn’t he be accused of using magic?

  2. There is no such thing as white magick and black magick. Real maigck should always be good.
Most humans are not able to understand the power or the reason behind magick, thus, if they attempt it, many are apt to do something wrong and upset the balance of nature. Only those with experience and knowledge should ever attempt to use magick.

  3. Here you go:
“When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire [an ancient occult practice], or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination [detestable] to the LORD…”
    -Deuteronomy 18:9-12a
    and also
Those who follow the path of the magic arts are on the wrong path – a road that leads away from God, not toward Him. In one way or another, the end will be disaster. The evil Queen Jezebel practiced witchcraft (2 Kings 9:22) bringing catastrophe on herself and all Israel. Over and over, God denounces those who “conjure spells” (NKJV) and those who practice witchcraft and sorcery. The Bible says that anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12; 2 Kings 21:6; Micah 5:12; Isaiah 47:12; Ezekiel 13:18, 20; Acts 8:11-24; Leviticus 20:27; Exodus 7:11; Revelation 9:21; 22:15).
God warns of the ultimate punishment. Revelation 21:8 says of “…those who practice magic arts …their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur… the second death” (NIV). Those who practice witchcraft (sorcery) will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:20-21). These practices are anti-God and are in rebellion against Him.

  4. Interesting question there, Youngblood,
I have starred your question and hope you get some good answers. My answer is simple – All good things come of nature, majick is a natural part of nature……in the right hands it is good positive energy – if you take the time to learn about it.

  5. Good question. And an honest one.
As a former practitioner of Wicca, I will try to explain.
The powers of magick are not sourced by nature, as sorcerers and witches like to believe. Magick is demonicly powered (whether the witch wishes to believe it or not), and turning to magick is a direct act of treason against God.
There is good and evil at work in the world, but it is not like The Force in Star Wars and it is not like the concept of Yin & Yang. Good and evil are not equal. It is false that there must be an equal balance. There is no evil in God, therefore to accept evil is to resist God. Proper balance is full goodness, not 50/50 good and evil.
Satan is not God’s equal opposite. He is an inferior CREATED being. Satan is not the embodiment of evil either. Evil is the act of disobedience to God – literally, evil is the absence of God’s love. You might wonder how it is possible for God’s love not to be somewhere if God is all powerful and omnipotent. There is one thing that man and angels have in common. A free will. The right and power to choose obedience or disobedience. God is pure and will not dwell with evil, and when man or angel chooses disobedience, God’s love will not stay with them. Magick is attempting to tap into the powers of fallen angels, the enemies of God, who have chosen evil; and by making allegeance with God’s enemies you make yourself His enemy. God does not want you to be His enemy, and He knows that mankind is oblivious to the astronomical danger and evil of alliances with devils (especially when man doesn’t even know they are allying themselves with devils) – and the only way He can really get through to us is by issuing such a severe punishment against it. It is, quite literally, to save us.
It does not matter to me if people give me thumbs down for telling the truth. Jesus said, “If they hate you, remember they hated me first.”

  6. People think they are in control of magic. But in reality the magic is controlling them. Magic mixes deception with truth. God does not need magic – He will not stoop to deceive. He is truth.

  7. I think it is a power thing. God is supposed to be all powerful and basically, what he (or she) says goes. Magick has the power to change what is and/or what could be, which would interfere with the fact that he is all powerful. It is commonly referred to as the devils work because you should look to god rather than an outside force.
I am not Christian, catholic, or anything of the sort, so I am not sure how accurate my answer is. That is just my opinion.
