Why do Hindus Hinduism, Buddhist and other people who belive in reincarnation allow people to die over karma?

If you believe in reincarnation would you allow someone to suffer and die and blame there bad karma from there past lives? Is it REALLY true people are suffering over the belief of Karma and nobody will help them…if they did help them then they wouldn’t learn there lesson of Karma and not reach Nirvana or escape from “life”?

  1. No,
This is Christian propaganda. Sewa (or service) is a key concept in Hinduism. It is our duty to do what we can to help others, and failing in that duty will cause our own karma to suffer. People’s progress through life is a complex dance, affected by their own karma and the actions of others. From our own perspective we cannot say that someone is meant to suffer, we have a duty that means they are “meant” to be helped.
(I know that this applies to Hindus and Sikhs, there may be a similar concept in Buddhism too though I don’t know)

  2. ok – please get some facts straight before you go making accusatory questions. There are thousands of websites and books out there that explain the basics of hinduism and buddhism so theres really no excuse.
Karma – in both faiths basically means action. Its the idea that we live many times over and that our actions / karma in one life determine the kind of form and life we will have in the next.
It is NOT – contrary to what many people assume – a kind of harsh cosmic unfair punishment.
The ideas are slightly differant in Buddhism and Hinduism – and between differant branches of those faiths. But the basic idea of those faiths is that our purpose in all lives is to advance spiritually to a certain level, whether it be nirvana, or merging with god , or in eternal servitude to god on a spiritual plane…
Karma – is a kind of cleansing process, a tool by which we learn from our past mistakes, by which we fall and advance and then hopefull advance and become free from the cycle of death and rebirth…
it is a kind of COSMIC CONSEQUENCE – not punishment… the same way in which a child who does something wrong – stealing etc suffers punishment – even if he doesnt yet understand why his actions are bad.
punishing the child – even though it seems cruel – is a kind of protection – a way of ensuring the child will grow to be a good person. Karma is the same idea….
BOTH faiths place extreme importance on the sanctity of life… the majority of buddhists and hindus are vegetarian and value all life as sacred and equal…
some one who is sick or dying or in danger is NEVER left with the excuse that its karma at work. Every effort is made to save and protect them – from the greatest king to the smallest ant…
Many hindus especially believe that god lives in the heart of all living things – and that to callously allow a being to die or suffer with the excuse that its their karma is not only an insult to god – but would also be bad karma for the person who ignored such suffering or danger…
Karma is on many levels a complex view… but its also very simple … its not cruel – its a kind of tough love that is ultimatly for the benefit of all mankind…
there are many variations to it – hinduism has almost as many beliefs as it does deities – and buddhism also has many variations — not all buddhists and hindus believe exactly the same things .. and the same goes for karma…
i hope that answers your question- if you have more – please google – but dont judge – you are free to believe it or not = but respect those for whom it is a fundemental belief
