A lot of people don’t have enough belief in themselves for one thing, they think that they are unworthy and miserably pointless.
It takes confidence and self belief to start building the foundation to be able to connect to one’s higher consciousness.
A lot of people are also looking for that instant gratification and don’t want to put in the time and effort to practice their meditations and get better at it..so what’s the easy fix?
drugs of course.
Drugs give a quick and fairly easily accessible solution for people lacking self esteem and who are too lazy to practice.
Sounds pretty unfair doesn’t it?

Using psychotropics to attain a Satori or Samadhi state is like taking a helicopter to the top of Mount Everest. It might be valuable (and even prudent) to do so to survey the terrain before beginning the actual climb, but until you’ve actually climbed it, you haven’t climbed it.

On the other hand, one could argue that the difference between using psychedelics and meditation is the same as buying a bowl and making a bowl; the latter may be more therapeutic and satisfying, but either one gets you a perfectly serviceable bowl.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say “most” need to use drugs nor would I say that the ones that have been taught the proper use of herbs to assist in certain types of travel could be called stoners. I seriously doubt they think they are better than others.

I’ve never connected with any higher power, sober or on drugs.

That’s not a god silly, that’s called a trip. Thinking clearly is what happens when you AREN’T hallucinating about god, gnomes, magic colors, and other weird sh*t.

there is only one way to the Father that is through Jesus Christ. Doing drugs takes you into the realm of demons. So be careful. Get saved please! Use common sense. Even a 10 yr old is not afraid to get saved. “Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from… Read more »

im more concerned about the people that don’t use drugs and think they’ve connected with a “higher consciousness” I believe that is a mental health issue rather than just a bad trip or excuse to use.

Because they don’t know how or won’t take the long path to enlightenment.

Drugs don’t even deserve to be called a crutch. A crutch can be considered a tool to help a man with a bummed leg walk. Drugs are just an excuse to escape life and see pretty flashes of light.

We don’t need any drugs to achieve separation of the subconscious.
