Why are Christians so concerned about their death? Don't they realize Jesus said you must first lose your life

This obsession with retaining their ego amuses me. The whole point of entering the realm of ‘the father’ is to lose all attachments to what you consider most precious – your ego. the go is a flase creation. Losing it is what is required to enter heaven. If you think you eratin your curent sense of self in the higher spiritual realm, you are sadly msitaken. In fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE to enter heaven while dragging your big stupid ego along. Don’t you get it? Jeus didn’t promise eternal life to your ego, but to the far greater reality of the soul – its essence having made the choice to separate from God led to the creation of the ego in the first place. Does anyone out there understand this?

  1. Yes, you are correct. However, just worrying that you may be the only one who gets this, proves your ego still lives… I’m still trying to slay mine too.

  2. Ok Lets Look at the word of God for this.Your right you die out to who you are in the flesh and pick up your cross and follow him,Jesus denied everything about this life and did his fathers will and not his own,Many christian are trying to live this live and it will not work paul said I die daily to his self he died same as we need to do.If you will lose your life for his name sake, then you shall find life everlasting.

  3. i understand…dont let that concern you though…most of the people with the egos have never known the way, they just have head knowledge…the world is in for a big surprise when Jesus comes to get his “perfect and spotless bride” because many, i repeat, MANY will be left behind…sad but true….continue to seek the Lord my friend, and those who you KNOW are born again, encourage and strengthen and help them prepare for His second coming so that they are not left behind…test the spirits, find out who is from God and who isnt…and then depart from the phonies, the fakes, the hypocrites……we are to die to self, more and more each day…until its no longer us that live, but Christ living in us…many have ignored this verse and try to “walk the walk” by obeying rules, and therefore are in the flesh and cannot please God with their own righteousness…strengthen the weak, warn the unruly, but dont get tied up in warning, but rather in strengthening….the Lord is purging out self from all of His children…i appreciate the question, and pray that all believers reading this who realize its for them begin to seek the Lord about destroying their ego…

  4. I am not concerned about my death. There are many Christians who will ascend into Heaven, during the rapture, therefore escaping earthly death.
I get what you are saying, but, if you have spoken to a Christian who is concerned about dying, then you should contact them and try to minister to them, directly. However, I would suggest doing it in a kinder way.

  5. This actually is a very good explanation of ego (self-serving) vs. soul (God-serving). However, it would be a help if the author took time to correct all his typos.

  6. While I can admit that some have an over inflated ego, I’ve taken an ego trip from time to time myself, the feelings of self worth are what make us what we are. If feeling good about what we do or who we are is wrong, then we are all going to hell in a hand basket.

  7. I am a Christian and I don’t fully understand what you are saying. I am not concerned about my death nor do I have a problem with ego. Are you suggesting all Christians have an ego problem? I don’t consider myself any better than anyone else on this Earth. We are all sinners and unworthy of God’s grace. But He gives it anyway to those who REPENT and decide to live for Him. I really don’t understand your question.
I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal 2:20

  8. You don’t seem to express your view very well here. I am confused as to what exactly you are trying to say.
I am a Christian, I do not have an obsession to “retain my ego”. Losing it is not what is required to go to heaven. Accepting Christ as God’s Son is the main reason to be accepted into heaven.
I don’t think you get it.

  9. Glad to see that you have the definitive answers about the afterlife. NOBODY knows what comes next. We may have a faith that shapes our beliefs, but no one really knows for sure.
