Whats the difference between psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists?

I really wanted to look into one as a career, but I don’t know which one to pick – if they are all different.

  1. Psychiatrist is a trained Doctor including medical, Psychologist is trained at University as a degree but is not a Doctorate(cant prescribe medication etc) a therapist is just a trained counsellor(so totally different from the other two.

  2. Psychiatrist – is a medical doctor who specializes in psychiatry. Some do therapy but most just give medication.
Psychologist – Gets a PhD or PsyD (Doctor of Psychology). They do testing and therapy but can’t give medication (this is changing in some areas),
Therapist – This term is used for a lot of different things. In psychology a person with a Masters Degree can get licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist or a Clinical Social Worker and do therapy.
