What's the difference between awareness and consciousness?

  1. To be conscious is to be aware of your awareness.
“Consciousness… is nothing but perception or awareness of the state of our own mind” David Armstrong

  2. in my opinion, if you can respond to stimuli, you are the base level of consciousness, and if you can further identify yourself in a mirror and claim “I am”, then you are aware, which only humans and a few other species can do
I guess it might depend on definitions though

  3. Awareness is an outward thing, one is aware of things around you, be it the air, the chair you’re sitting on or the sounds you can hear.
Conciousness is focused inwards, it is you’re mind being awake and processing the information that you are aware of.
