Astral Projection is the mind/sprit leaving the body to yet another body. Lucid Dreaming is where a person knows that he or she is dreaming.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is a paranormal interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling to non-physical planes of existence. Commonly such planes are called astral, etheric, or spiritual. Astral projection is often experienced as the spirit or astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane. Astral projection is controversial. Skeptics say that there is only anecdotal evidence that anything actually leaves the body
A lucid dream, also known as a conscious dream, is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress. During lucid dreams, it is possible to exert conscious control over the dream characters and environment, as well as to perform otherwise physically impossible feats. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person’s level of self-awareness during the lucid dream

Well an As$tral Projection is when I put my butt cheeks on my neighbor’s window and lucid dreaming is when they see this projection they figure they must be dreaming. Since I am their preacher.

A Lucid dream can happen when you are asleep or like having a day dream while you are awake… But a Astral Projection can only happen when your body is in one place and your spirit is in another place… Now you body is still function but your body is in a trance like state… While your spirit traverses the world…. Now how this can happen is still remains a mystery to science… But under scientific observation… They have seen how it works but they don’t understand how it works… It like when the body dies and the spirit rises above the body… But during a astral projection the body does not die and the spirit is still attached to the body similar to having a umbilical cord still attached to a babies body….. So like a kite your spirit can travel far and wide but the umbilical cord is how you spirit finds its way back to your body……………………………….

Well the main difference is Point of View. In the Dreaming state you will be able to see in one direction just like when you are awake (Forward) but in Astral projection you can see in all directions at the same time.

Lucid dreaming is a state not unlike being hypnotized. However it can be done without the hypnotic criteria. I combine the two and often end with simply going to sleep. Generally I remember most of the dreaming state upon awaking. Now Astral projection is when you have reached such a state of consciousness that you are capable of using your spirit, astral body complete consciousness… or whatever you choose to designate the entity that dwells within us all and it leaves the body and travels to a projected destination. it is less dreaming as is the latter and more like the waking body exploring. With Astral Projection you get into the Astral Plane direct from your physical body. When you have a Lucid Dream, you have simply ‘missed’ the initial projection. They are just two different ways of entering the Astral Realm. In either case you are still conscious in the Astral, however, as there are degrees of lucidity in dreaming, you may or may not be fully in control of your experience. But this is highly unlikely in an Astral Projection. There is still a difference, whether more slight or obvious.
The difference arises mostly because of the framework you are entering from. If you project from the waking state, you may encounter some difficulties due to restrictive ideas carried with you that don’t apply to the Astral, and require some practice to adjust to the new environment. On the other hand, in a Lucid Dream, having accustomed to the expansiveness of the dream state, you can sometimes have the opposite problem, finding it hard to retain a conscious focus, and thus ‘losing lucidity’. With practice of course, both of these will be overcome.

astral projection is where you actually leave your body,
lucid dreaming is just very vivid dreams

I have numerous experinces (100 plus) where my spirit leaves my body with me being 100% conscious. My spirit always leaves my body through my head. It always leaves my body without warning but when it leaves my body I am in total control of what I see and what I do not want to see in the spirit world. If I decided that I want the experience to end my spirit is back in my body in an instant. I have never seen my physical body lying on the bed like others experienced. My first experience was back in 1994 and I am still experiencing it today. I just dont know why its happening to me all the time

When I was a young boy I used to get a magazine called “Man, Myth and Magic” at my local newspaper shop. In it Astral Projection is described as being able to leave the body and travel , to other planes, places, maybe other worlds. As I remember the reading was describing how it is done. Apparently one is to lie down somewhere comfortably like on a bed or floor. Then relax all one’s faculties, breathe in slowly and probably get into a state of unconciousness. In which the spirit leaves the body for some time whatever length is desired I suppose.Your mind is in complete control during the experience.Like Kilroy master has said your spirit body is probably on an umbilical cord, which cannot be severed, only by death. But there can be dangers, like for instance someone could enter the room and think that you’re dead and if you’re on a long journey, you could end up being buried alive, some people have been known to be in a trance for days. Risky business don’t you think doing it alone, maybe someone aught to be there, until you’re through.
