  • The very reason he escaped was that he had information from credible sources that China was going to eliminate him. They perceived him as threat then and they feel threatened by the clout he enjoys now.

I think he made a very wise decision. Even if he were alive he would not have been able to do anything for Tibetan cause apart from towing CCP line. China is afraid of this English speaking, globe trotting monk like never before. So much so that it uses the most unparliamentary words and gross lies to defame him like “Wolf in Monk’s Robes”, “Slave Owner” etc etc.

The 14th Dalai Lama has done what no other Dalai Lama had been able to do. He has brought the understanding of Tibetan Buddhism to the Western world. The popularity of Buddhism has increased manyfold whereas previously it remained confined to some Eastern countries.

More and more people sympathize with the cause of Tibet and condemn the human rights abuses. China is very cautious about everything it does in Tibet.

I don’t want to think about what would have been the situation then, I can just say that Tibetan government in exile has demonstrated that they can run an excellent administration inside Tibet better than anything China claims. Tibetan refugees don’t beg, they work hard and share a common dream. The dream of a free and democratic Tibet.

  • As a Tibetan whos grandparents (boths side of my parents) were murdered by the so called “People LIBERATION Army” of China.

If our spiritual Leader had not escaped, then China would most most Definitely have killed him. (om mani pedme hum… )

Hoping that would fizzle away Tibetan freedom movement.

China and those uninformed Chinese hope that the Tibetan freedom movement will wither away after His Holiness passes, But they don’t realize that it is the movement of Tibetan people !
Not Dalai Lama’s cause but its Tibetan peoples cause.

It is sickening how the Chinese have kidnapped 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet after he was officially recognized in 1995 and Chinese chose and installed their own Panchen Lama !

FREE The 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet !

REJECT The Chinese Gov’t Chosen Panchen Lama

On April 25th 2008 one of Tibet’s most important spiritual leader 11th Panchen Lama would be celebrating his 20th birthday. He was kidnapped by the Chinese authorities soon after he was officially recognized in 1995. To this day his well-being and where-about remains unknown along with his family.

After the Dalai Lama, the Panchen Lama is widely considered to be the most important religious figure in Tibetan Buddhism. Because of this, Chinese Gov’t has chosen their own Panchen Lama to use him as a propaganda tool to meddle ruthlessly in Tibetan Buddhist affairs in an attempt to exert political and social control over Tibetans through the religious institutions at the center of Tibetan life. The issue of Panchen Lama highlights China’s gross violation of human rights and restrictive and repressive rule in Tibet as a result of which Tibetans across Tibet rose up in unison to take part in spring 2008 protests. Fifty years later since the Chinese occupation, Tibet remains under virtual martial law with heavy military presence. All this is happening while NO INTERNATIONAL MEDIA IS ALLOWED inside Tibet.

  • Do you know the fate of 11th Panchem Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gedhun_Choekyi_Nyima

He is the youngest political prisoner. No one but PRC Communists know his location.

Obviously Dalai Lama could not get so much support for Tibetan cause if he had not escaped. Probably Tibet would have gone the fate of Xinjiang where China has conveniently branded the Uyghur Freedom Fighters as terrorists. How many voices do we hear of Uyghurs?

  • re-education camp and then a job as a labor

Americans love homeless dogs! We take care of them and don’t eat them!

  • not be killed then ,just depends on his behaviors to chinese goverment,he seems like a traitor now to most tibetan and chinese, you know what is a homless dog kept by american?

  • You may compare him with the tenth Panchen Lama. Panchen ever was put into jail for 10 years. after he got out from prison ,regained freedom, Afterwards he was respected by tibetans, was considered the leader of tibet buddhism by CCP, chinese center government treated him quite well. BTW, Tibet has two Buddhism leader, Banchen Lama, Dalai Lama, they managed front tibet and back tibet individually under supervision of center government. Banchen Lama once escaped to Yadong(a small city, near the border between india and China) from Lhasa with Dalai Lama. But he returned back to tibet due to be persuaded by CCP.
The difference with Panchen is that Dalai never set foot in tibet from then on.

  • For the non Buddhists it doesn’t matter when or whether the Dalai Lama is dies as he will be re-incarnated.

  • he would have been killed, if not killed, imprisoned, some times it is better not to kill a leader, just put them in jail, killing a famous leader often gives their followers reason to raise up and die to him/her
