No, most definitely not; Deepak is not a Christian. He is fond of speaking of the “Christ consciousness” however. He has made a lot of money selling the horrors of karma and reincarnation to Westerners that have little to no understanding of it. His teaching is New Age, which is based largely on Hinduism.

He is definitely not a Christian, although New Age teaching can sound very much like Christianity in some ways.

There are some important differences, though. Christians believe that we are sinners, and that we need the blood of Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. New Agers don’t believe in sin. Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, believers in New Age beliefs think that Jesus was just a good person.

He is Buddhist. Actually I think he integrates principles from Hinduism, Buddhism, and some Christianity. I have a documentary of him explaining and applying the Buddha’s Eightfold Path, but I also have a book of his that addresses Hatha yoga and Raja yoga, Hindu ideas. I think he takes what works from whatever source and applies them.
