  1. You don’t need to buy anything. There are lots of tools Witches use, a non-cutting blade, cup, a knife to actually cut with, a wand, etc, but you don’t need them. I would recommend building your personal energy and psychic skills before questing for the right tools. The only tool you will ever need is your mind/spirit.

  2. *shivers* Witch Craft? In my opinion and many other Christians you shouldn’t do witchcraft. It is unnatural, evil, and wrong.
2 Chronicles 33:6 (New International Version)
6 He sacrificed his sons in [a] the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger

I don’t mean to offend you or anyhting but in my eyes it sis very wrong

  3. All of that is unnecessary. It’s used to channel the magic that comes from within, but you can just as easily use your own body. Sure, it’s cool to have all the fancy tools and such, but they get pricey, and after all, you are the source of the magic; not the tools. 🙂
And, by the way, don’t listen to Lily. Magic is very natural; it’s a part of us.
I bid you luck on your spiritual journeys, whatever they may be. :]

  4. Capt, You really need to go next door in the mythology dept. They are the best bet to give you an idea. K? Or read Harry Potter books.

  5. The only tools you really *need* are your hands and your mind. All else are symbols which make it easier to focus.
For those who are just learning, the basic physical tools for the altar are:
Athame – ritual blade which must never touch blood. The edge can be dull, the handle traditionally is black. Symbolizes the element of air.
Pentacle – A disk of wood, metal, stone, porcelain, etc. which usually has a five-pointed star marked on it. Symbolizes the element of earth.
Wand – a wooden stick, traditionally the length from the tip of your middle finger to your elbow (1 cubit). Can be decorated with runes, crystals, paints, wood-burning, etc. as you choose. The wand is the item most commonly made by hand. Symbolizes the element of fire.
Chalice – a cup, often stoneware with a stem. Symbolizes the element of water.
Incense burner/incense – frankincense and sandalwood are the incenses I usually use.
Candles in candleholders (anything from tea lights to votives to pillars or tapers – whatever you prefer)
One Yule I gave my coven members tiny “portable altar” kits – a wooden box with a piece of white cotton cloth for an altar cloth, a penny for a pentacle, a birthday candle for a candle, a needle for an athame, a matchstick for a wand, and a thimble for a chalice. Also included were an incense cone and a packet of salt. Total cost, including the box, under $2 each. So you see, it doesn’t need to be fancy, expensive, or large.
Additional items that can be added to your altar or used in casting:
Cauldron – you can get a small one for your altar to put water or a candle in; use any kind of pot except aluminum for brewing teas and potions on the stove.
Bolline – sharp ritual knife used for cutting herbs, cords, and so on. Must never touch blood. Traditionally white-handled.
Bowls – for water, salt, mixing herbs in.
Other things you can use for spell-casting: herbs, incenses of other kinds, tumbled semi-precious stones, pillar candles of various colors, essential oils. Spring water, sea salt. What exactly you will need depends on what kind of spell work you are doing.

  6. A Witch needs no tools. A Witch is born with all tools necessary.
BUT if you wish to purchase tools, candles are a good tool to have, wand, athame, incense, cauldron…But again, these items are not necessary.
Try making them instead of purchasing them, as this will infuse them with your own personal energies and help your work come to fruition better.

  7. I m New To The Art of witchcraft and i clueless on how to use in the Book it said that all magic must be done in the circle Does magic have to Be Done in a Circle
