What is the key for which we are all searching?

ki, qi, chi, prana = life force, vital energy…

Its purpose is what? If the key is “vital energy,” how are we to use it? It flows freely, but what does it mean in terms of being human; of “remembrance”; of karma, dharma, samsaras, moksha, etc.? What are we, but vital energy, and how do we experience this life energy and to what means, especially if the “key” is ki/qi/chi/prana? Does “It” (the Source/Mystery/Unknowable) direct the ki or are we to direct this life force ourselves? If we are to use the ki within as the key, what is the purpose we are to achieve…leave the body; regard the body as a holy temple (temporary?); make a “successful life” using the body/mind to do so; transcend the body knowing it is unreal? If we are to regard the body/mind as an illusion, how precisely does the ki catapult us out of the illusion? And then, what comes of the ki? What relationship is the vital energy to Light?

Your thoughts…

realize we are the creator – having enough immortal energy that we are invincible and then we can go create a universe of our own liking, ditch this one (if we so choose) and stop listening to sarcastic morons and reptilian middle men who feed off the kindness of our culture’s goodness

There is only one energy & we can give it any name we want, but it’s still just one. We have a constant ever present supply of this energy. In essence it is our connection made manifest in a physical world. It is only one but we redirect & often misinterpret the impulses we receive from this energy. I like what Will Rogers said & would only add that we need do nothing, or rather we need only to unlearn all the blocks & misinterpretations we place on these impulses so that we can at last stop diverting & redirecting… Read more »

Looking over the replies received so far it is readily apparent what I take to be the truth of the matter, namely the MOTIVATION that is felt by a particular person is about out as general as anything can be…..no two persons are alike in this regard. “Whatever floats your boat”, “Differen t strokes”, etc.,etc,etc. So it may seem we seek is some sort of universal truth or value but individually what that is, is highly variable. I suppose that some duplication may exist, especially where indoctrinated motives have been emphasized, but just because a particular goal satisfies my neighbor… Read more »

The “key” is to simply BE all that which we are. Ours is to experience Life itself and ALL that Life has to offer. Love is the key to creation, of which we are.

Seems to me like you’re trying to look for some short cuts. You’ve gotten hold of a lot of information and you are now trying to connect all those pieces of information to make some sense out of it all. You are looking for a purpose to see if it all makes sense. When you say ‘key’ it means a gateway to someplace, something that opens locks, lets you go through, lets you see what’s on the other side. My friend, if I may advise you, go slow, enjoy the process, don’t be so obsessed with the destination that you… Read more »

(ki) is the father presents a part with son intended as YZ ending, k is long ½ heaven earth and with the i added {word coming long one ½ earth eternal} (i), And for any thing to be “coming long one” it has with it another portion of k (son) with (father) as they a whole this becomes the image of God. For life begins/is in the image of God and “life force, vital energy”. Ourselves is start and finish in us, not a mystery but a life known in any of names, lettering; but all the same ending, when… Read more »

So many questions.. So many words.. Words only get in ones way.. So much illusion.. Wisdom is the key! Wisdom dispels that which is known as the ‘ocean of illusion’. One that acquires wisdom attains the key. Mans mind is filled with questions. Wisdom will answer all the questions, but first one must develop unshakable faith. One must become determined. One must eventually discard the illusion. Faith is the key to wisdom. Wisdom is the essential key that unlocks the heart of man. * One must fully understand the inter-relationship between the four elements (earth, fire, water, and air), that… Read more »

The key is to find out that there are no walls, doors, or locks to open.

I’ve always thought that the concept of “Grace” is important in the spiritual development of any person. You can get overwhelmed by the thought that spiritual understanding is terribly difficult and that you must struggle unceasingly for it. At some point, when you have purified not only your actions but the thoughts leading up to them, God just reaches out for you. Little miracles begin to happen, and later, tremendous spiritual experiences, washing away all doubt and all fear. The “key” is just unselfish love for all living beings, and the repeated remembrance of God, and deep desire for His… Read more »

Thought looks for the key, the looking is endless: is the looking keeping the door locked?

I am not searching as there is nothing to search, key is unnecessary, it is all there to see/be if only we quieten the mind, that is the key, if at all!

We are born with a rational and learning mind – we should go with that model and stay rational and keep learning.

Searching to transcend the mind/body should be done for relaxation purposes and to accept our lives without judgment – to reach a deeper state of dignity, calm and joy, NOT to find some other reality or to leave our body.

East is meeting West culturally, and a lot of the concepts have a difficult time adjusting to the new culture. There are a lot of round pegs and square holes there. West is always in a hurry to put everything in a box, classify it, and move on to another problem. East is much more comfortable with ambiguity. If ki is not of the body, how can it flow in the body, how can it influence the physical if it is not physical? (Certain applications, in the martial arts for example, make it clear that Ki is not simply a… Read more »
