  1. clairvoyance means “clear seeing”. it is the act of seeing with the mind i suppose…. whereas …. um do you mean premonition? anyways, the other is the result of clairvoyance…. you get a premonition (psychic impression, message etc) through many forms, one being clairvoyance. the ways of getting premonitions are
clairvoyance – clear seeing, physical & psychic
clairsentience – clear feeling, sensing includes emotions also
clairaudience – clear hearing, physical & otherworldy
claircognizance – clear knowing…. JUST KNOWING
they are called the 5 clairs…. and are of the 5 senses but i cant remember 5 sorry! hope that answered it a bit!

  2. Clairvoyance is the E.S.P. ability to sense by way of the powers of the mind rather than through the physical senses. For example, a person with clairvoyance may be able to sense what is occuring in the next room as though she or he had “X-ray vision”, or she or he might suddenly sense an event occuring thousands of miles away. Legitimate scientific studies of clairvoyance have netted mixed results, not enough to prove or disprove it. However, clairvoyance remains a popular psionic power in science fiction.
Precognition is the E.S.P. ability to sense the probable future or destined future. Precognition is the scientific term used for scientific studies of this phenomenon; in other contexts, sensing the future might be known as prophesy, the art of divination, or fortunetelling. Legitimate scientific studies of precognition have netted mixed results, not enough to prove or disprove it. However, precognition remains a popular psionic power in science fiction.

  3. Precognition- Knowledge of something in advance of its occurrence, especially by extrasensory perception
Clairvoyance – The power to see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the senses. Acute intuitive insight or perceptiveness

  4. Clairvoyance– “clear seeing”
When you actually “see” something in your mind happening in a different time or place. It can be the future, the past, or the present.
Compare to “clairaudience”– “clear hearing”– you will hear events, but not see them.
Precognition– “to come to know before”– as in, before it happens or before you learn about it.
If precognition is accompanied by a “vision”– or seeing it in your mind– then it is also clairvoyance. If it occurs in other ways (automatic writing, hearing information in your mind, having a “gut” feeling, etc.) then it is still precognition but not clairvoyance.

  5. M S B has a pretty good answer, in my case it happens and I have no control of why when or where. I can sense some ones presence and on occasion have projected my presence on to an other being. When this happens I believe it is energy are mind produces and this energy is love. I think that unconditional love”like between mother and child” is the strongest energy are minds can produce and is the source of our “clairvoyance and precognition” and our spirit! check out my web site

  6. Clairvoyance (from 17th century French clair meaning “clear” and voyant meaning “seeing”) is the purported ability to gain information about an object, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses (see, feel, touch, hear, smell) a form of extra-sensory perception (ESP). A person said to have the ability of clairvoyance is referred to as a clairvoyant.
Clairsentience (feeling/touching): person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of feeling. Generally the term refers to a person who can feel the vibration of other people. There are many different degrees of clairsentience ranging from the perception of diseases of other people to the thoughts or emotions of other people.
Clairaudience (hearing/listening): person acquires information by paranormal auditory means and is essentially the ability to hear in a paranormal manner. Clairaudience may refer to actual perception of sounds such as voices, tones, or noises which are not apparent to other humans or to recording equipment.
Clairalience (smelling): person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of smelling.
Claircognizance (knowing): person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of intrinsic knowledge. It is the ability to know something without knowing how or why you know it.
Clairgustance (tasting): allows one to taste a substance without putting anything in one’s mouth. It is claimed that those who possess this ability are able to perceive the essence of a substance from the spiritual or ethereal realms through taste.
Precognition denotes a form of extra-sensory perception where in a person is said to perceive information about places or events through paranormal means before they happen. A related term, presentiment, refers to information about future events which is said to be perceived as emotions. These terms are considered by some to be special cases of the more general term clairvoyance.

  7. Clairvoyance and precognition are NOT the same. Examine the definitions again: Clairvoyance is the ability to derive information regarding something seen that is not readily apparent, cannot be seen, by merely seeing an image, an object, or scene. Precognition is knowing about events before they actually transpire, without having explicable access of that fore-knowledge. Clairvoyance is “clear-seeing,” while precognition is “fore-thought.” Clairvoyance and precognition are not even properly synonymous, however there is nothing that says a clairvoyant cannot experience precognition. By the very nature of these and like phenomena, the current state of science and technology can do very little to explain the existence of extra-sensory perception abilities, however, there are innumerable documented cases of people, for instance, having knowledge of things, people, places, and events, that are accurate, yet defy explanation. Just because you don’t know the answer to something does not mean that that thing is not genuine or real.
