Wicca is a religion that chooses to honor nature, the cycles of nature and the universe. They believe in a Goddess and a God, follow the “Wiccan Rede” and the “Law of Three” as some rules and guidelines. The Law of Three states that whatever is sent out returns times three. A Witch practices Witchcraft, which entails the use of candles, herbs, stones, and other corresponding information and materials to bring about needed change (but it doesn’t happen in an instant). There are no deities to worship, no dogma to follow. Only personally set ethics and guidelines such as taking… Read more »

wicca is a modern ceremonial earth religion that focuses on respecting the cycles of nature and the balance of the natural world.

witchcraft is the practice of occult lore, like herbology, astrology, divination, etc. witchcraft is not necessarily religious and can be pursued within any religion. to legitimately call yourself a witch, you would have to be highly educated in your area of the lore, or at least pursuing a high level of education. casting spells is not enough.

many wiccans are also witches, but not all.

Merry Meet, This is one topic that actually gets a whole lot of discussion. But in reality and by definition all Wiccans are Witches. a witch is a name given for one who practices witchcraft
wicca is a nature based religion

The two are often subject to confusion

Many but not all Wiccans practice witchcraft
Many witches but certainly not all are wiccan. some follow no religion or path at all even.

Need any more advice, mail me

A witch is someone who practises witchcraft, regardless of religion.

A Wiccan is someone who practices the religion of Wicca.

A witch can be of any faith, including Wiccan, but not all Wiccans are witches and not all witches are Wiccan.

The same difference as between your left hand and your right hand.

I don’t know if there is to much of a difference.
but to me witch sounds more like a bad term for a wiccan.
Wicca is a religion, of sorts, whereas a witch sounds more like something others called wiccans, but it would take a wiccan to answer your question properly.

A witch is a practitioner of witchcraft.

A Wiccan is a person who follows the religion called Wicca. A Wiccan may identify themself as a witch, but, not all witches are Wiccans.
