What is the connection between fasting & meditation and performing miracles?

It’s a recurring pattern with Jesus, Buddha, prophets, Catholic/Orthodox saints, etc
I still don’t understand how does fasting enable a person to become a miracle worker.

  1. It is a common belief going back to ancient times that fasting alters your state and brings you closer to God or Gods. It is a way to sacrifice your body and mind and make them susceptible to the power of the almighty. Basically, you starve yourself to the point where you can become almost dead or possibly delusional. However, in these moments, come absolute clarity and strength of inner self. It is the only selfless sacrifice. So the almighty power recognizes your efforts.

  2. Meditation is a part of the high level religious practice. In the Eastern practice, it’s associated with other common routines such as body/spirit/mind purification, and reading sacred scripture.
In the story of Buddha Siddhartha’s culitvation, fasting didn’t help him to reach enlightenment.

Fasting is a mean to stop taking food (as probably un-pure) in high realm in order to keep the spirit and body stay pure for a period of time. Bathing is also a symbolic ritual to keep the body pure.
Falun Gong was found in 1992 as a unique Buddhist school, teaching an ancient practice for the mind, body, and spirit, based upon the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Falun Gong consists of five sets of powerful exercises.
The most offensive human right violation is the organ harvesting from the Falun Gong practitioners in China. Can you kindly sign a petition to stop persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, please ?

  3. The soul manifest itself externally when our mind ceases all external thoughts. This will happen when we are in deep prayer or in meditation. It will also happens when we are in extreme hunger.

  4. It’s to do with the way the chakra system and energy body works. Over-simplifying slightly, your stomach is a receiver and store for both biological and non-physical energy. When it’s processing food, it can’t process the more subtle stuff, so you’re dumbed down spiritually. Here’s a regrettably small wiki link, but it’s better than nothing!

For more detail, Mantak Chia and Taoist yoga are good searches to start with.
