What is reincarnation and is it real?

Any links to stories of people or information on reincarnation. I’m looking for more of a scientific perspective as opposed to religious. Meaning I want SOME KIND OF proof (Stories of people who accept it as real).

  1. Reincarnation is like dying and coming back to life as another person its not really known if possible but many people (religion’s belief) do belive that is possible carnation means like getting inside a body and re doing it again.

  2. Scientific? Can’t give you that.
Reincarnation stories developed in Western culture in the first couple of centuries BCE an the first century CE. I haven’t done enough research into Eastern culture, but Hinduism and Buddhism believe reincarnation is real and were doing so long before the Western world.
If you’re interested, look to the religious. Reincarnation is a belief, not a fact.

  3. Can’t say this is either scientific or religious, all I can tell you is that I have had 2 “flashbacks” to previous lives that I knew at the time they happened that these were true. No idea HOW I knew that except that they came out of nowhere and I wasn’t even thinking about the subject at the time. I have always suspected that reincarnation made sense. The idea of a “loving” god that could come up with a “one shot, pass-fail” system wasn’t really very loving.
Neither is a short story, but I do e-mail, I will share them if you wish.

  4. One can know for sure that reincarnation is false by praying the rosary regularly. See the following promises, especially #3.
    The rosary is explained here:
The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:
    1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.
    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
    4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
    6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.
    7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.
    9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
    13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.
    14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
    15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.
    God bless!

  5. Wish you could study the research that led Carl Sagan to make this statement: “At the time of writing there are three claims in the ESP field which, in my opinion, deserve serious study: … (3) that young children sometimes report the details of a previous life, which upon checking turn out to be accurate and which they could not have known about in any way other than reincarnation. I pick these claims … as examples of contentions that might be true.” (“Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark”) You really can’t get more scientific than Sagan, who was a brilliant scientist (part of the Voyager spacecraft team and writer/star of the TV series “Cosmos”. He was also a tireless critic of the supernatural and even founded a group specifically to debunk paranormal claims. But after he looked into the research on reincarnation (such as the work done by Dr. Ian Stevenson) he concluded that reincarnation is an authentic possibility.
I was born this time around with very distinct memories of my most recent life. This is very common in small children – see http://www.childpastlives.org and its moderated discussion forum if you’re interested. Most kids are encouraged by their families to dismiss their memories as ‘make believe.’ A recent case is highlighted here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1209795/Reincarnated-Our-son-World-War-II-pilot-come-life.html – and there is extensive and impressive research available for review in books by Dr. Ian Stevenson and a few other serious scientists.
My view is that everything and everyone is a small fragment of the Cosmos (all that is). We are each, in other words, tiny pieces of God. Not the “God” imagined by primitive men in the bible, but God as represented by infinite energy, and nature, and universal laws… a non-judgmental, non-intervening God whom we, collectively, all are.
