Quantum physics describes the behaviors of of objects at the sub-atomic scale, which include things like photons, electrons, protons, quarks, etc.
It’s limitation is that it does NOT describe behaviors attributed to gravity at the sub-atomic scale. Therefore we know for a fact that our current quantum theory is INCOMPLETE. Our current theory of gravity is Einstein’s theory of General Relativity, but it is only able to describe large scale objects like planets, stars and galaxies. It can NOT describe behavior of extremely small dense objects with intense gravity like “black holes”.
Therefore, most physicist today are looking for a theory to replace our current quantum theory and general relativity. The top contender is called Superstring Theory.
