What is it about shadow people that is so bad?

At my parents old house one would hover over me while I was in bed. I know someone is going to say something about sleep paralysis or something like that but I wouldn’t be asleep when I would notice him. I would have my back to the door and feel someone behind me and when I would turn to look it was just this black figure of a man that scared the hell out me. I would close my eyes and he would go away. My sister and my mom also saw him but he never showed himself to my dad.

  1. Am from Africa the shadow person I saw used to make scared and appeared to me on three or four occasions, the first three it had its eyes closed and just stood over me in my mid sleep state, and I would scream in a half sleep state, the fourth and last occasion if opened its eyes, and it had green eyes, it spoke a couple of words and jumped straight through the ceiling and I never saw it again….what did it mean?????

  2. I saw a shadow person, it was sort of blackness that ate the dark light around it in a mottled form with glowing green slit eyes. I saw it when I was about 8 sleeping in my parents bed I woke up and it was watching us. I was scared but hoped it was a dream so shut my eyes and hid under the covers . It never came back and I never saw it again, I don’t think whatever it was is good or bad I felt as though it was almost waiting for something. Either way I wouldn’t worry too much about it, seems like it happens to a lot of people.

  3. I’ve been seeing shadow people and animals for a while now so often that they have become almost part of me. All the research I’ve done seem to point to shadow people being demons or a dimension break but I’m not sure. I mostly see shadow people outside and my little cat is always with me no matter where I am. Strange but true so I’m really not sure that they are per se, bad. They used to scare me but not any more.

  4. It seems to me that a shadow person is a way for spirits to manifest. I had one in an old apartment of mine. I saw it occasionaly it freaked me out at first, especialy when I was woken up by the feeling I was being watched, and I looked at the door to my room to see it standing in the doorway. But, as I lived there I felt more and more at ease with it as I discovered it wasn’t there to hurt me. It was very curious about what I was doing most of the time.

  5. Seeing a “shadow person” is the only paranormal experience i’ve ever had.
It happened on three occasions with me when I was a child. I remember a clear shape of a man – exaggerated – at least 7 feet tall and almost touching my ceiling when I lay in bed. It didn’t scare me, I just lay there staring at it until I fell asleep, as he walked up and down my room. The figure occured a second time, and the final experience occured a third time when the figure actually walked up towards me as I lay in bed. I remember becoming frightened for the first time and pulling my bed sheets over my head as children do when afraid. It never returned after that.
Just thought i’d share that with you.

  6. I don’t know why some think of them as bad. When I am lonely or depressed they are a comfort to me. Thier presence reminds me of the real meaning of spirit and the power of magik.

  7. There’s nothing bad about shadow people. If you are truly encountering shadow people, it has sometimes been reported that the presence of them is often accompanied by a feeling of dread.
Of course, I cannot say for sure but I am fairly certain a shadow person is not going to hurt you. Infact, they usually disintegrate or leave the room when they are noticed.
It seems as if you no longer have to deal with these presences, so I won’t offer advice as to where to go for help. (But, if I’ve got it wrong you can email me.)
And if someone replies about sleep paralysis, ignore them because these are not symptoms of sleep paralysis, so no worries. 🙂

  8. There is nothing bad about Shadow people. I have only seen one, in my daughter’s bedroom. My daughter use to be afraid to go to asleep in her bedroom. I would have to close her door. When she was four I sat her down and asked her what was so scary about her bedroom. She said nothing now. I asked her what she meant. She said the green eyed shadow said he was there to protect her, and everything was ok. Apparently there is Shadow people with green and red eyes. I researched and only found documentation on the red eyed Shadow people. I know they are real because my husband and I was standing outside while he smoked and saw a Shadow on her wall. As we mover closer it retreated to her closet. I told her the next morning and she said I know. Weird.

  9. Are you sure it’s not just your own shadow?
My mom claims to have had a simular experience before I was born. She went to the laundry matt and she’d hear cow boy spurs walking behind her. When she looked out of the window she’s see the shadow of a cow boy wearing a cow boy hat. Then the sound of the spurs would follow her home.

  10. Maybe they’re not bad, after my cat died. I always thought I saw him out of the corner of my eye. And anything that surprises you at night is scary, but that doesn’t neccessarily mean it’s bad.
