What is a fun philosophy and/or philosopher to research upon?

“The topic of this research will focus on a specific philosophical school of thought and the presentation must explain the major ideas of the philosophy, and create a method to teach one aspect of the philosophy to the class.

The research paper should had at least 3 sources, 1 of which is a text. You may choose to focus on a philosopher. Possible options: Western- metaphysics, Plato, Socrates, Aesthetics, Neo Platonism. Eastern- Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism.”

O. M. Aivanhov’s “A Philosophy of Universality” offers several advantages: he lived in recent years; and his book is a collection of readable oral talks to regular people.

Ken Wilber’s “One Taste” or “The Simple Feeling of Being” might be another fun choice.

Or, “Autobiography of a Yogi,” Yogananda, http://www.yogananda-srf.org and “The Path of the Higher Self,” Mark Prophet, and “The Great Divorce,” C. S. Lewis, and “The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?”, Free and Wilcock, http://www.divinecosmos.com would be good/fun spiritual choices.

I always enjoy Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527), whose best-known work, “The Prince” is an excellent primer for how to function within and make use of political systems to maintain power.

I would go with philosophy as you will have more resources, comparisons with other philosophies and influences.
