I’ve read that the Buddhist Monks use abstinence, as a way to keep their energy and gain spiritual growth.

Tantra Yogis claim that the sexual yoga takes the energy to the mind, by waking up the kundalini, and this provides spiritual growth as well…

I would like to know more about the differences between the both techniques(besides the obvious) and to know which one is more effective…

Or in which case I should use one or another…

  • I used to go to conservative churches that teach that abstinence crap, and I learned that the leaders of these churches actually crack jokes about 30 and 40 year-old virgins behind their backs. Now I just send my Christian friends to the site below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. It covers same-sex lifestyles too. I hope it helps you.

  • I am not an expert in either
but I can only suggest that each of them would work for the person who believes that they work

if you feel one would work for you more than the other … then follow that
you cant force yourself to be more spiritual by doing certain practises
you have to feel it is right

  • Lots and lots of sex.

Sex and spirtuality are not at odds, and abstinence or tantra are necessaary for spiritual growth. Just put sex aside for an hour and medidtate.
