Your soul separates from your body and then your soul goes ether to torment or paradise to wait for judgment. Once in Hades you will already know where you are going for eternity, at the judgment you will be told WHY.
What happens when the concious part of your brain shuts down temporarily, IE sleeping without dreaming? Nothing, eh? You just blink and find that it’s the next day. You didn’t “experience nothing”, you simply lacked an experience of anything.
Why assume that a permanent shut down is any different? Logically there’s no reason to say that it is.
What was it like 10,000 years before you were born? Sort of like that.
