What does the Bible say about these philisophical questions?

Hi I want to ask what the Bible says about the following philosophical questions:
1. What is truth? Can we know the truth?
2. What is reality? Is the world we see and live in right now the reality?
3. Do other people have a mind or consciousness like me?
4. Do we have free will? Or are we determined by God or genes or environment?
Those questions aren’t directed stated in the Bible, but I want to ask your opinion on what the Bible suggests the answers to those question might be.

  1. those are the wuestions that I had and couldnt find adequate answers to so i sought them elsewhere.
you may or may not find answers to your own satisfaction therein.

  2. You should go find one and look it up. It seems like it would take a lot of time. I don’t event want to attempt to do it.

  3. Religion doesn’t tend to answer those philosophical questions, and when they do, not well. Philosophers also have to define what they mean by consciousness (and degree of it) and free well?
My personal take, is that religion is more of a faith-salvation thing telling people how to get saved and about G-d (the faith part) or they serve to define morality.

  4. [John 14 : 6]
    6. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
it’s rather simple actually, what knowledge you need when you can
know the secret of acquiring eternal life ?
Heaven is 4th dimensional world and you can explain with our knowledge It is just too complex.
It’s like trying to make ants understand quantum physics

  5. 1) Jesus is the Truth. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We can know truth. Relativism is contradictory in nature. There must be one truth. God has revealed it to us in many ways. It is in the world, it is in His word, and it is on our hearts.
2)We know it is not wholesome reality, That is, the world as we know it is not the way it is supposed to be. We all sense that. God promises us a more ultimate reality; that is, knowing God and drawing closer to Him. Knowing God and Jesus Christ is eternal life (John 17:3).
    3) Yes, other people are real. If they are not, that is beyond our place. We are creations and our place is to serve – God and one another. We must live as if the world we have been given is not an illusion. To move forward as if life is an illusion is to place ourselves in a position that we are not in. What good is it to work against the fabric of what God has put before us? This is our world – at least for now – and the people we know are our brothers and sisters. We must treat them as if we were in their shoes.
    4) Yes. The whole of the bible does not make much sense with out this. God wants our loving relationship; without free will we cannot love. Furthermore, if we are not free willed creatures than God indeed has created our evil. This is not the truth. God created all good things; man turned away from God.
I have always held myself as an intellectual person, but that is all foolishness now. Rich people don’t understand the kingdom of heaven. We must understand our poverty in order to be effected by God’s word. I have never felt more intellectually fulfilled than when I am studying the bible. You have to seek it out openly. But in all your seeking, in all your wisdom, you must come face to face with your foolishness.

  6. 1. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. It is not a book to read or an idea to grasp. It is a person who loves you, and who is alive. You can know Jesus and you can experience abundant life.
    2. What is reality? A world which is under a curse because of our rebellion. A degraded and depraved humanity. Cruelty, arrogance, selfishness and deceit. But there is an alternative reality available, a restored life that is what it was intended to be.
    3. Yes. If you don’t know Christ then LOTS of people have the same mind. If you do know Christ, then Christians are supposed to be of one spirit…and one mind.
    4. We were given a free will…but we have consistently used it to rebel against God. We have a Spirit…a soul…in addition to our body, and in addition to our family/society/environment. If any one wants to lay aside that rebellion and to be forgiven, you only need to seek Jesus and take him up on his offer to be your savior. He can give you a new heart and a new mind, an abundant life, and a purpose. But it wasn’t free for him, and you will need to want it enough to give up your ‘ownership’ of your own life.

  7. 1. John 17:17 John 8:32
    2. 1st John 5:19 2nd Corinthians 11:14-15. No the reality of this world will not continue forever. The bible says that God’s Kingdom will rule the earth forever Daniel 2:44. In this Kingdom war will be no more Psalms 46:9, death will be no more, no mourning or outcry or pain, we will never remember these in God’s Kingdom Revelation 21:3,4
    3. Romans chapter 2 says we all have a conscience Romans 2:12-16. It is how you use your conscience that will determine if you are like others. 1st Corinthians 1:10 says we can be like minded for Christ.
    4. God (Jehovah) gave mankind, and spirit beings free will. However many people say that free will is what can lead to harm, which is true, yet it can also lead to good.Proverbs 14:17 Proverbs . Our genes make up who we are as a physical person, and home life, or our environment can lead us down what seems like a predetermined path. Yet the Bible says at 2nd Timothy 2:4 people of all sorts can be redeemed, and come to know truth.
Look finally at Colossians 2:8 “Look out; perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world, and not according to Christ.”

  8. In answer to question 1) 1st part, read Palms 119:160 and John 14:6 because of John 17:3-8. And in answer to the second part of question is at 2 Timothy 3:16,17
