What does it mean to "align with my true identity?"?

The first Principle of Spirits Onymous says, “Align with your True Identity–There’s only one truth, one reality, and that is Divine consciousness. I am Spirit, You are Spirit, All is Spirit.”
We are Spirit, having a human experience. As spiritual beings, we’ve accepted “physical” form to joyfully re-create and re-define our true Self, which is non-physical, which is Divine Consciousness.
Before you took on a physical body, you existed in spiritual form; after you die you continue to exist in spiritual form. Your physical form is merely a momentary state of being, a cosmic day-trip if you will. Or actually, is it just your perception that this is a physical world? And when you become conscious of the fact that you are Spirit and fully live in that awareness (reached “enlightenment”), how will that change your life?
Love to hear from you.

  1. This is just so much gobbledygook trying to intellectualize the simple fact that we are all part of a greater spiritual consciousness in this world, and should be living our lives mindful of the consequences of all we do.

  2. God made my soul and I love God and I will go back to God when my physical body dies.
In the meantime, I am my authentic self.

  3. It’s so tempting to talk about this stuff, isn’t it? We want a road map. Then there’s the buddhist saying: he who speaks doesn’t know and he who knows doesn’t speak.
I like the story of the two sages who met and sat in silence for — who knows how long? — and finally one of them burst out laughing and said “They call that a tree.” Alan Watts compared ordinary consciousness with a flashlight beam and cosmic consciousness with a floodlight.
(Obviously, I’m not one who knows. There’s a neat description of transcendantal bliss in the book “Eat, Pray, Love.”)

  4. I agree, each is a spirit in a house on earth, when we die we will return to the spirit realm ,to God if we live for him,to hell if we deny him.

  5. For me, it simply means unlearning all the ways I have been taught to identify myself and the world around me, and instead begin to experience my life without any preconceptions are biases. Its to live without mental interpretation.
Ironically, that extends to dropping concepts like “enlightenment” and “Spirit.”
How will that change my life? Lol! Such a funny, entertaining question! Yes, I remember when changing my life was the goal 🙂 Ah such miserable times! How I suffered. And how I still suffer when I unavoidably regress back to those foolish motives! What a mess!
    I leave you with this:
Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.
After enlightenment: chop wood and carry water.
Change? So very funny 🙂 A sense of humor is required!

  6. God Loves You!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
    John 3:16-18 NIV
