What do you guys think about karma and reincarnation?

Do you think the two are linked? Sometimes I feel an incredible wave of homesickness while I’m walking past some random seemingly inconsequential spot or I’ll feel deja vu for no reason. This leads me to at least ponder the existance of reincarnation.

  1. there are different interpretations of reincarnation… reincarnation into a different person… into the same person… into a coconut… it depends…
karma is sort of a mystery to me…. i think it depends mostly on a persons thoughts…
    The Theory of Eternal reccurance
With a limited amount of matter(which there is)
With an unlimited amount of time(which there might be)
There is a limited amount of combinations that you can do with this matter..
Over a long period of time, the same events will occur…
    Over…and Over….and Over… and Over
consider reincarnation… then consider reccurance… they both explain deja vu…

  2. I happen to believe that reincarnation is very possible. As a matter of fact I have friends that have discovered there former existences and happen to be very educated on the science and lots of history concerning these matters.Refer to higher-vision.org home.

  3. karma, reincarnation, and this idiotic recurrence theory i just read posted here, are inventions of the human imagination…like all things religion i’m afraid.

  4. As a Tibeton Buddhist the two ideas are an intrinsic part of the Buddhist religion. Karma is in its basics the rule of “what you do comes back to you” or in other words “Cause and effect”. Reincarnation is actauly only applied to specific Boddhisattvas that have come back, such as Lama’s, Buddhas and other enlightened beings. The more correct term for ordinary people and animals is “reborn”. I am a believer in both and know of my previous life time and have visited the place I lived at before. I did not use a guide or a map when I went there because I remember. On a related note Reincarnation and Karma is also part of the Hindu doctrine as well as some African religions and a few others. It is believed in by almost half the human race.

  5. Deja vu isn’t necessarily linked to past lives, though it can be. It can also be precognition or intuition.
From a Buddhist and Hindu point of view (which is where the word “karma” comes from), yes the two concepts are definitely linked. For Buddhists, as one other reader replied earlier, the correct word is rebirth rather than reincarnation. We get reborn according to our karma. Karma isn’t just a big bad divine punishment – it is a way whereby we are led to have experiences that will ultimately enlighten us (wake us up and help us to get rid of our illusions or delusions). Many people see karma just as punishment done for wrong actions, but that’s not what the religions teach. Karma can be a compassionate and wise teacher!
Hindus believe in an immortal soul that comes back repeatedly through rebirth. Buddhists don’t believe in an immortal soul. Their belief is a bit more complicated and most people will ask “but then what is it that gets reborn, if there is no immortal soul?” But that’s for you to ponder and research further if you want to!
I have (traumatic) past life memories and know other people who do too. It is not such a big deal, though admittedly it took me years to get my head around the fact that this was really happening. If I had grown up in the East, it would not have seemed so far-fetched to me. There are a lot of therapists who also work with past life memories.

  6. There is no such thing as reincarnation. The Holy Bible is the Word of God and no where in it does it say anything about dying and coming back as somebody or something else. No where. The Bibles Jesus Christ came into the world and died on a Cross at Calvery for you and me, He died to wash away our sins, He was Perfect in everyway. We are sinners, our sins seperate us from God but Jesus came washed our sins away, now all we have to do is believe and we can be in Heaven someday with Jesus. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, it is appointed unto a man once to die, but after this the judgment. There are no second chances with God, Jesus Christ his son has paid the price for sin, if we reject Christ there is no making it up. We are condemned to death in the lake of fire forever and ever. In John 3:3 Jesus says we must be born again. To be born again means to confess to Jesus we are sinners and ask him for forgiveness of those sins and ask him to make us a child of His. If you would like to become a child of God and be saved and Born Again just pray this sinners pray and you can have a new start in life and have a new Saviour, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

  7. I certainly hope reincarnation isn’t real. I never want to have to come back and go through life again. Especially the way the world is now.
