  1. It’s not a religion and does not involve prayer. I know Christians who are into astrology. You can have any belief you want; astrology is just something kind of extra.

  2. It’s not a religion. It is something that can be incorporated into your path if you want.
Just as it isn’t a religion, neither is being a psychic, or a telepath etc.

  3. Most people incorporate astrological beliefs into another pre-existing belief system…such as Christianity, Hinduism, etc…

  4. It usually isn’t practiced as a religion… But were it a religion, why would you assume it would necessarily involve prayer?… Not all religions actually have any form of prayer…

  5. Astrology is not now, nor has it ever been a religion. There is no “orthodoxy” or “doctrines” to Astrology. Astrology is a type of metaphysical practice or art form.

  6. It’s not really a religion. Many Christians even believe in astrology ( the Regan’s). It’s just believing that the position of planets and stars have an impact on your life. So the universe guides you. I guess you could think of the universe as god, but you don’t really pray to it.

  7. Astrology is a science, not a religion. It’s not a science in the form of modern science, but it was the forerunner of modern astronomy.
Some religions and some practitioners of various religions use astrology, but it is not, in and of itself, a religion.

  8. it isn’t a religion. there is no praying or worshiping of any Deity. it is more of a belief than a religion. now you can study Wicca which includes studying astrology as well as many other things. I would get a book on Wicca and read up on the religion. there are a lot of interesting involved in the religion.

  9. As a Christian I would discourage you from getting too involved in occult activities.
However, in order to answer your question, I will say that astrology comes from pagan belief and therefore at its core contains belief in the ancient gods of the Sumerians. Over time practitioners have worshiped the the prevailing pagan gods of their era. So in today’s multicultural world, you would get to choose who you want to pray to and if you get to divide your prayers depending on their spheres of influence.

  10. All of the Sun gods are based on the planets and the months, even Jesus. You could choose any one of them and it would be the same thing.
OSIRIS — EGYPT: He came to fulfill the law. Called “KRST,” the “Anointed One.” Born of the virgin Isis-Meri on December 25th in a cave / manger, with his birth announced by a star and attended by three wise men. Earthly father named “Seb” (translates to “Joseph.”) At age 12 he was a child teacher in the Temple and at 30 he was baptized, having disappeared for 18 years. Osiris was baptized in the river Iarutana — the river Jordan — by “Anup the Baptizer,” who was beheaded. (Anup translates to John.) He performed miracles, exorcised demons, raised El-Osiris from the dead. Walked on water and was betrayed by Typhon, crucified between two thieves on the 17th day of the month of Athyr. Buried in a tomb from which he arose on the third day (19th Athyr) and was resurrected. His suffering, death, and resurrection celebrated each year by His disciples on the Vernal Equinox — Easter.
Called “The Way, the Truth, the Light,” “Messiah,” “god’s Anointed Son,’ the “Son of Man,” the “Word made Flesh,” the “word of truth.” Expected to reign a thousand years.
