What books would you suggest to promote spiritual enlightenment and motivation?

I’m not talking about books from evangelical Christians, I’m talking about books that promote zen and getting in touch with your spiritual side. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Neale Donald Walsch: “The New Revelations–A Conversation with God”…

And BTW, this has NOTHING to do with evangelical Christianity at all. I found it to be a very insightful book, discussing “Universal Spirituality” if I had to put it in a nutshell: how our current divided religions do us a disservice, and what we can do to become more truly Spiritual Beings. Check it out…an easy, fast read, and fascinating outlook!!

Good luck!

Peace.

You can download Bhagawad Gita which has meditation and the entire spiritual text of Indians from the same site.

There are also direct articles like “Who am I” at ramanamaharshi.org

I am REALLY glad you are not talking about books from bible-thumping right-wing Jerry Falwell, Ted Haggard “Christians”. Here are some of my favorite authors and a title: Frederick Buechner Renita Weems Henri Nouwen The Tao of Pooh Quran The Little Prince Thomas Merton’s Seven Story Mountain Why Am I Afraid To Tell You Who I Am by Powell The Life of Dorothy Day The Reluctant Messiah by Bach Any of C.S. Lewis’ Books … they really are not child’s tales …but rich allegories of a spiritual life. Any of the Vedi literature Rabbi Harold S. Kushner Rabbi Abraham Joshua… Read more »

The Kybalion by Three Initiates and Be Here Now by Ram Dass.

You will not read a more important book than The Kybalion. Google it – it’s available to read online for free.
