what book would you recommend for some who wants to learn how to use magick?

preferably a book that explains how magick works, and how to start learning to use it.

  1. ‘Spells for the Solitary Witch’ by Eileen Holland
‘The Real Witches’ Book of Spells and Rituals’ by Kate West

  2. Joanna I think was the only one who really answered you question seriously. There are a lot of books out there on magic (the K was added by those arrogant enough to have a distinction between illusion and true magic. I don’t hold to that nonsense). Magic is subtle and a manipulation of natures energies to shape what you want or need. It takes years to truly understand and get down the basics, plus there are rules and laws involved. I use it occasionally and it does work for me. So why do you want to learn? Trust your common sense and instincts when you study the books. Some don’t work and others just are not good.

  3. Satanic Bible, Satanic Rituals, Satanic Witch. Don’t worry that last one appears for girls only:some rituals are useful for both gender(like protection and curse)

  4. Hello Captain Morgan
These will set you on the way – most on what I have termed previously natural magic, one on the ceremonial side of things, and one to go through spells and how they work (or don’t)
Keep coming on here and asking :-))
    Hope this helps
    Halcon :-))

    Oh! Thank you Crystal Clear!

  5. I have been in you position and deep down in side the only reason people want to learn magic whether it is slit of hand or other types they are all gimmick’s of the devil. because before you know people are going to start liking these neat tricks cause it feeds there supernatural needs then you are going to want to learn more tricks but the deeper you get the more you will find the tricks you will learn will be real witchcraft and it will take the whole church to save from yourself.

  6. I have a couple of good spellbooks by Kate West, also Earth Magic by Scott Cunningham. Remember it is not the particular spellbook you use, but how you are able to tap into the power of the elements and channel them to help you through your spells.

  7. Oh dear, well first of all, spell the word Magick however you feel, Magic, Magiq or whatever else you want. It is not important. You understanding of it alone is what counts.
As some already told you there are many books out there. But first of all you should know which kind of Magick you would like to follow. Natural Magick, Wicca; “classical” ceremonial Magick, Enochian Magick, Chaos Magick….. to just name a few. However, no serious book would provide you with a 10 page “how to do” instruction sheet. Magick of any system needs a lot of time, study and understanding. You need to work on yourself. So if you just want to pay some revenge to someone who annoyed the hack out of you, forget about it.
You got already some pretty good references.
For ceremonial Magick you may check out the books by Chick Cicero about the Golden Dawn or Israel Regardie’s books (also GD). Aleister Crowley (though that really needs some time and study). Lon Milo DuQuette has very good books out there. Franz Bardon wrote some good introduction. Anyways, you first would have to think about what exactly it is you want to do with Magick or Magic and then check out the various systems to see which would suit you and your purposes best. Also note that some systems include a spiritual believe system (though not all also request you to adopt their spiritual beliefs) while others just make references to such systems.
Anyways, be careful if anyone promises you a fast plug and play start into Magick or who requests a lot of money for selling you enlightment. It is a long journey throughout which your abilities will grow if you are persistent, patient and open to what you will experience…
    L.V.X.
