What Are The Goals Of Different Religions?

The goal of Christianity is reaching Eternal Salvation.
The goal of Buddhism is reaching Enlightenment.
The goal of Taoism is reaching Balance.
What are goals of some of the other religions out there?

  1. Tricky talking about the “goal” of a religion.
Christianity is a viral religion. If it hadn’t been in the time of Christ, it was made so by Paul. Although an individual’s goal might be eternal salvation, the practical goal of the church is to get as many people as possible to sign up for Christianity, to keep the virus spreading and virulent. (a.k.a., “the glory of God.”)
The impulse to evangelize is completely missing from Buddhism and Taoism, which is a fact to reflect on when trying to explain why you meet so many more Christians than Buddhisms or Taoists.
