What are the benefits in doing yoga and pilates?

And what is the difference between the two, I am currantly trying to lose weight, will this help me, do you burn alot of calories doing yoga or pilates?

I will send you links to some great articles on the subjects you asked about. The website has a lot of info on these 2 topics. Once your on the site make sure you do a search in the search box for yoga and pilates because there is so much info on there. Check out meditation to it can help you mentally excersice.

No you burn very few calories with these.

Depends on what type of yoga and pilates you are talking about. The pilates on the machine is great for toning and lengthening your muscles. Those pilates videos will help you strenghthen your core. Bikram yoga will help with posture, burning fat and flexibility.

I’m not familiar with pilates, but took Bikram Yoga for a while. It is not so much about burning calories as it ia about stretching, though some positions do help strengthen muscle, and the Bikram method is performed in a heated room (90 degrees or so), so it can help with losing water weight.

Well if I were you I will never try to do YOGA again, because certain positions make me fart in class and it was embarrasing.

i really don’t believe so. u lose weight when your heart pumps fast. youga and pilates u do for muscle stretching.
