What are some ways to increase oxygen supply to the blood?

The pineal gland develops as the blood is fully oxygenized. Many believe the pineal gland is the third eye and I am particularly interested in developing it. A couple days ago I swallowed a couple peach pits (something I’ve been doing since I was a child. I haven’t noticed the effects until now.) I just learned that the inside of peach pits contain amygdalin, which when mixed with stomach acid is converted to cyanide. Yesterday I woke up with my whole body tingling and had to vomit (although I was too tired to get up, so it went back down and I fell back asleep). I woke up with a stomach ache again today. I believe that the oxygen supply to my blood is limited.
John, what are you being all mean for? I simply asked how to increase oxygen supply to the blood.
I didn’t know peach pits contained cyanide.

  • You can increase your blood’s oxygenation by increasing your inspired oxygen concentration, but you won’t increase the oxygen content by much. You can carry more oxygen by increasing the hemoglobin concnetration in your blood.

Our blood is designed to hold a lot of oxygen on hemoglobin (in red blood cells). Most of us run around with 96-98% of our arterial hemoglobin oxygenated. If you breathe in extra oxygen, you can easily get it to 100%. Beyond that, some oxygen is dissolved in the blood.

This is described by the following equation:
    (Hgb x 1.36 x SaO2) + (0.0031 x PaO2)

Hgb= hemoglobin, SaO2 = saturation of that Hgb; PaO2 is the partial pressure of oxygen in the blood (the dissolved oxygen).

Notice that you multiply the PaO2 by a very small fraction: 0.0031
Normal PaO2 is about 100, so even if you can get 5 times that level, your actual content of O2 in the blood only rises by 1.24. If you raise your Hgb level by 1, you will increase your O2 content by 136, so you can see that’s quite a bit more than 1.24.

Now I have a question for you. What on earth were you thinking by poisoning yourself with cyanide? Get a grip.

  • Your reading about scientific things as entertainment is fine, but you should realize that without a basis in the scientific method and a strong knowledge base in associated areas, you have no basis upon which to base your conclusions or beliefs. Leave it at the entertainment level or get a lot more basic knowledge before you start thinking too hard. And stop swallowing peach pits.
Keep in mind that there are millions of people smarter than you, and millions with a huge base of knowledge about physiology and neuroanatomy. You aren’t likely to come up with anything they haven’t already figured out.

  • Oh man. Stop swallowing peach pits . You know..apple seeds have trace amounts of cyanide too. You could just eat them. THey’re smaller and easier to digest I bet.
