Weird dreams, sleep paralysis?

OK well I have recently been getting these weird dreams & then not being able to move or open my eyes for like 5 seconds. It started about 2 weeks ago. Well the first with the first dream I was in bed and my mam came up stairs & was talking to me but I was asleep and could see everything she was doing and it was actually happening and then everything started flashing and went blurry and I woke up but wasn’t able to move for a few seconds or open my eyes? OK then a few days later I had another strange dream, i was in a bar and all these men were touching me in a club and then I woke up and could feel something touching me everywhere and I couldn’t move or open my eyes for a few seconds again. I thought it was weird and just left it. Then last night I had a dream I was in the sea and my friend was on these rocks up above me and we were laughing and then she started pointing behind me in the water and looked really scared and after a few seconds I felt something come over the top of me and I woke up in shock but I couldn’t move or open my eyes again for a few seconds. Then when I woke up it felt like pressure was on me. I looked and it was like half 3. Every time it happens I struggle to move I have to try and open my eyes, its scary. I am really freaked out and don’t want to sleep anymore!!!!

  1. Is there a question here? Sleep paralysis is harmless, and there are various ways of dealing with it, foremost of which is recognizing it when it happens and realizing you can’t be hurt.
Other ideas include lucid dreaming (where you learn to control your dreams) and many different medications.
Probably you should see a sleep specialist if they bother you that much.
    Edit:
Ugh to some of the responses below! You probably should have asked this in medicine, not religion, but I also have sleep paralysis and thought you could use a quick answer from a non-doctor.

  2. You’ll probably think I’m a freak for saying this, but it sounds like you have a hostile spirit haunting you. That’s the only thing I can really think of.
You may want to hold a seance with a few friends and maybe do some sage smudging. Here are two links that might help:

If this doesn’t work, you may want to contact a professional, and ESPECIALLY if other strange things have been happening.
    Hope this helps!

  3. Yep, sounds like Sleep Paralysis.
It’s a scary condition, but nothing that can harm you. It’s like sleep walking (which is actually the more dangerous one).
If you haven’t already researched it, it’s when the portion of your brain that regulates sleep misfires and causes two things to kick in before they should. One, paralysis that normally happens during dreams so that you don’t actually act them out. Two, dream senses. Your dreams start before you are asleep so all the things you see and feel are hallucinations.
I’ve had it for years. It can be scary, but know that you know what it is, just remind yourself what is actually happening to your brain and try to stay calm. 75% of people will have an episode of SP at some point in their life, but only 2% have regular experiences.
If you relax enough and don’t try to move you can slip into a lucid dream — since you’re already technically dreaming you’ll be able to stay 100% aware while your body falls asleep. Lucid dreams are extra vivid dreams where you are in control of your surroundings and can manipulate what happens. Have fun and enjoy.

  4. You need to ask God to keep u away from evil spirits who are obviously are attacking u. Prayer keeps them away. Say bismillah they will run away scared.

  5. The more you fear it the worse it gets. I experience sleep paralysis on a regular basis myself and the only thing you can really do to help prevent it is to not be scared that it’s going to happen. The more you think about it as you are going to sleep the more likely it is to happen. Try relaxing and thinking about pleasant things as you go to sleep.

  6. That sounds like a psychic vampire to me. http://books.google.com/books?id=RzQ-2u9ESBUC&pg=PA143&lpg=PA143&dq=psychic+vampires+konstantinos&source=bl&ots=xlu2mpB7Dq&sig=Yzb4xajjehVAqcChymDIgK40lw4&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result#PPA151,M1
page 151, around the bottom, is an actual psychic vampire attack. I hope that this helps.
and all of page 152. If you think this is what is happening, perform a purification. Just a smudge stick of sage or sage and cedar should work.
