What do you think a witch would do or how would you describe one?
Help, answer these as well?

Well according to a reputable source. If they weigh the same as a duck, then they are a witch. (Since they are made of wood after all)
Or you could just ask them instead of snooping around.
Well, I suppose I would first look to see if they wore any sort of necklace or charm. My friend wears a “tree of life” necklace, christians wear crosses, etc, so I would assume that someone that could perform magic would think they had their own sort or religion (or was Wiccan or whatever), and would wear a charm. I would watch for odd things happening. Anything out of the ordinary. Bad things happening to their enemies…. that would not be for a Wiccan or whatever, they believe in do no harm, but a bad witch… ANd I would look for like in Twilight the “dazzle” effect. Perhaps they get in a tight spot and the person who is challenging them suddenly forgets, or gets really busy. I would be weary if they didn’t ever want people over, and if not, if they had odd things in their room. That is not to say that people who are not overly social are witches or that people with spell books in their rooms are really witches…. maybe just Harry Potter fans. 😉 They would be acting suspicious, or perhaps trying very hard to be inconspicuous. Maybe they keep their head down a lot. Maybe someone is really horrible to them, and they just sit there and take it. Maybe they have an all-knowing look on their face…. as if to say, “haha. If only you knew what I could do. You wouldn’t say such a thing”. I don’t know. Is this for a book or something???
The bible is against witchcraft, even good, so ….. ya. Just throwing that out there. God bless. Good luck with whatever you are up to.
What are you looking for here?
Wiccans? Old World Traditionalists? Druids? Energy Workers? Left handed people?Â
All those typs of people have been accused of witch-craft, and all those types of at sometime have been attack and killed by all sorts of folks at one point or another.
<------- energy worker here. My pic is right there, ok upp a little from "right there" 😀 & my ex-wife is an Old World Traditionalist... Italian with some angel-work thrown in there.
Witches are regular people. They look just like everyone else. If you met one on the street you would not be able to tell.
Are they wise?
Do they care for the earth and all that is associated with it?
Do they not push their beliefs on you?
Are they pleasant to be around because the energy they manifest is balanced?
Do they have objects from the natural world around them? (Crystals, herbs, plants)
If the answers to these questions are yes, they might be a Witch.
I’ll describe a Witch, I am 5’2″ tall. I have blue eyes, reddish hair and weigh about 100 lbs.
I’ll tell you of a few of the things I do. I grow a garden with herbs and vegetables. I keep bees. I take my 15 yr old son to competitive Hockey practice 4 evenings a week and go to his games on the weekends. I breed and show dogs, Afghan Hounds and Havanese.
I work in my basement dog grooming shop. I read, a LOT.
I am a solitary green witch, so I don’t go to a lot of circles or meets.
Occasionally I like to join a local drumming circle and once in a while my sisters, daughter, nieces and I get together and draw down the moon, or do a protection or healing ritual.
I use herbal remedies or go to the doctor.
I meditate. I watch TV, crime shows, history and nature shows mostly.
Each Witch is different, I am just one example.
I would ask the person straight out. Then watch their reaction to the question. Then discuss it together.
See if they have a pointy black hat, a wand, a broom, and a black cat.
They will tell you don’t worry about that. Haven’t you seen them on here, ” witch for 5 years” ” 3rd generation wiccan”.
sad sad sad
Witches/Pagans/Wiccans look like everyone else. Sure some of us have a tendency to prefer black clothing but not everyone does. The best way to find out if someone is from our religion is to simply ask.
Witches honor nature and the Goddess. We work with the elements and Gods and Goddesses from all cultures all over the world. We are peaceful, laid back, and usually very accomodating to questions. We do not ride broomsticks or have green faces or cast evil spells.
We are just normal people we look the same, we work the same and we are the same we just follow a different spiritual path.
I’d echo what’s been said though, look for a necklace as that’s the only outward sign of my path. It might be a pentacle but equally it might be a hare, or a tree or a crystal. Even with a necklace it’s difficult to tell, but the chances are good if it’s something esoteric.
Witches and wiccans are exactly the same as everyone else, we look the same, act the same, have the same family and life problems. Drive the same cars (although there may be something interesting hanging from the rearveiw mirror…) eat the same food (although probably the fresh sort not the fast food variety so much)
If you’re in someone’s house and suspect, look for natural decoration, stones, crystals, wooden things besides the furniture. The pictures may be of strong women or natural themes such as animals. Should you happen to know which way the compass directions are look for items in each quarter to associate with them North is earth, west is air (feathers. incense) south is fire (candle) west is water (plant?)
If you’re by the front door there may be some sculpture, or a stave (going by my own house lol) or some herbs associated with protection growing. Any washing products in the kitchen may well be eco safe, or handmade.
To be honest unless we want you to know chances are you won’t – often we have enough clues out for those who are of like mind to realise and after that we expect you to ask – ways to start the conversation would be to ask about the necklace, or the sculpture or the herbs. If the person is sure of you they’ll answer. If they aren’t however they’ll just brush your question off with a neutral reply. So really it depends how well you know them.
Just my twopennorth 🙂
