Can you do such a thing that I could be enlightened for forever most qualitatively as soon as possible. I am regularly doing surya namaskar vastrika kapalvati nadisodhan and mediation. I am also doing distance reiki healing to me myself. But the problem is that my family don’t like me doing all this. I also have many other things to say but I am feeling difficulty to express don’t you have such a capacity to identify my feelings such that you can do necessary action to solve these problems. If you are feeling uneasyness through my message I am sorry.
Lot’s of bad answers here !
Firstly let’s take the answer of doing nothing : sounds easy doesn’t it. But doing nothing is not just being quite or pretending to be natural – that’ s a piece of cake. Doing nothing means that you have no awareness of your self in any action. It means that whatever happens, you are not involved. It means that you don’t prevent any action, nor do you cause action. Everything happens but you are not involved. Just try it for a while … you will see.
Bhakti or devotion to God is normally understood to be the fastest way. Self-enquiry I think runs in second place for speed. Try and see what works for you. But … you must understand that you are trying to let go into reality – and so it is up to reality to decide what is right for you.
Some people have said do this, some have said do that, some have said this exists, some have said that doesn’t exist.
So how will you respond to all this “advice” ?
You see … you must try all these things and be honest about how they seem to you. Not just in the mind – it’s not about thinking. It’s about being.
Most people think and talk and read, but never practice. They are just lost.
the quickest way to achieve enlightenment is to be immersed in the enlightenment experience in the presence of an awakened one. your body/mind will then experience a change in vibration and will remember it and want to recreate it. for myself, i have gravitated toward men and women like this for the last 35 years and am farther along than when i started. without a guru to change your perception you could spend many lifetimes trying with little sucess, but with a really true guru you may find your way home and back to your true self in this short lifetime. so even if it takes 30, 40 or 50 years of trial and error that is in relative terms for this golden state very very quick. good luck and find a truly loving person to help start the transforation. hint: if you feel very unsettled in the presense of this person, cannot seem to take your eyes off of them, sort of have a hard time thinking around them, but feel the love, then you might have found a true guru. some other things to watch for: how fancy the dress and cars and whatnots. pick one who looks close to homeless (they are…), does not ask for money but probably needs some to carry on daily activities including ashram and travel, does not perform ordinary miracles, talks about losing your ego and attachments, and has followers who would would acturally enjoy spending time with- also not too much into materialism or power trips and the like. one of my favorites today is shivarudra baliyogi maharaj and i try to spend a few days with him each year in retreat and it is wonderful
dying and being born again as mentioned in the bible is one way to define enlightenment. hating christianity is a form of hatred/preference. ceasing dukkha was mentioned by jesus Matthew 6:25-34 and meditation/samadhi is expressed in Psalm 46:10.
focus on your breathing, forgive everyone, dont get emotionally involved in any of your thoughts, carry meditation/prayer with you in all that you do, have no preference, find love in all you see and do, and the gate/dying and being born again will find you.
The answer is in your question. You are still desiring enlightenment. And if I understand the mystics correctly, enlightenment is the cessation of all desire.
So please, when this question arises inside of you, be intensely present to it. “Ah, there is the mind coming in, wondering when I will get enlightened…interesting.” Just notice the mind desiring. Do not try to change or fix it.
Then have a cup of tea.
Do Gateway of course.
“Based on data collected from eleven groups, it appears that peak-experiences occur with regularity during the Gateway Program, as well as a wide range and multidimensionality of other trans-ordinary experiences. This great variety and depth of experiences suggest that Gateway helps to facilitate a huge opening or expansion of consciousness. This expansion seems to occur in both the outer and inner dimensions of being.”
There is no “enlightenment” as those eastern religions describe it.
There is salvation and eternal life with Jesus!
JESUS is the meaning and purpose of life! Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! 😀
Only Jesus truly satisfies our souls, and only Jesus gives TRUE fulfillment! Nothing else will satisfy you or fulfill you, no matter what you acquire.
The meaning and purpose of life is to be loved, saved, and blessed by Jesus, and to glorify the Lord, and to serve and worship Jesus forever! 😀
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).
Please pray now: “Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! 😀
I’ll be honest….if you’re truly searching for enlightenment, then you’re never going to find it the way you are now.
One of the key points for gaining enlightenment is to ‘not try’ to gain enlightenment just for gaining enlightenment of yourself, or trying in general. I.e., asking how, when, etc…
You should just live a good life, meditate, be a good person, etc… and enlightenment will come to you.
I know it sounds contradictory (to not try to gain enlightenment), but that’s apparently what Buddha said (roughly)
(*to the guy who posted an answer below me, seriously he didn’t ask for a sermon on Christianity…..you should really only answer the question that someone asks)
