Not too unlike the pro-obama supporters, the 9/11 truthers, the tin-foil hat brigade, mass-media culture, etc.
In some ways, would you say society hasn’t really changed at all?
Answer by eeksdeeks
society has not changed in the sense that
people are still primitive in some ways,
as an example, how people believe in religions
which are all primitive beliefs made up by
witch trials, those were nothing but illegal lynching
I have been to the Salem witch museum. What’s going on now, has nothing to do with the ignorance and jealousy that happened back then.
Don’t think so.
Look in the real world.

Living examples in front of TV news reels and in prints on people, places and events that passes by our daily lives in time?
Mass hysteria attacks only happened in school when children of tribe of different community were idol worshiping the dead Mummy with spirit of the dead with hear-say only from the Book of the Dead in trying to repossess the children’s body with them screaming, growling in rough voice beyond their control in time?
While children of tribe of different community with the spirit of God is not being affected while in the same classes in time.
What do you think?
Geddit, “witch” trials…
The thing is that the Holy Roman Church initiated such trials under the hammer of witches (the dreaded Malleus Malificarum) way back when. And that was all about politics posing as religion crushing religion posing as culture in any and all of the colonies that fell before their relentless onslaught. You may be interested in researching the “Summis desiderantes affectibus” – A papal bull promulgated by Giovanni Battista Cybo – aka Pope Innocent VIII – toward the end of 1484. What a shrine to misogyny promoting hate pretending to be moral panic that little episode in history is.
You’re quite right.
Society really hasn’t changed at all.
In the UK today, smokers were the new witches though now the hammer is turning toward single parents. Especially on the run up to a general election, where soundbytes and preaching to popular misconception becomes crucially important to political survival. This because the hammer only ever falls on the poor and the broadly defenceless – corrupt politicians and conniving bankers; paradigms of of all that is wrong in this world remain pretty much above reprisal.
Thank gawd for witches, eh?
Without them how on earth would we ever satisfy our mealy-mouthed hypocrisies?
When a woman is thought to be a witch, it is pretty certain she is old, maybe a little frail, and not much use around the place, and maybe wandering a bit in her wits. Declaring older women witches to get rid of them is one way men have always had in primitive tribes and societies of reducing the number of mouths they have to feed.
And, in some cases, the men in the tribe want to get hold of the woman’s land, probably left to her by a dead husband.
In other words, a combination of male meanness and greed, together with the devaluing of older women.
