Right first of all I want to say I know there are a few similar questions to this. The reason I know is because I searched for ages and read about other people who seem to be able to do the same thing… however are ridiculed by other people etc
Well I want to say that I am a highly intelligent person, I’m not some kid that has just watched ‘Wanted’ and wants to live the dream.
I understand that technically speaking it is impossible for me to control my adrenaline, I know how it works and I also have an intimate knowledge of what systems it works with and why etc…
I still have this ability… and it seems I am not alone, and I want to know what it means. Im not looking to be a super hero or anyone special I just want some answers or to start looking in the right direction.
For me it feels like this.
I just have to think about it and I feel a cold rush running down the back of my neck, this cold tingling sensation then fills my whole body… it is IDENTICAL to the feeling I experience when my body naturally triggers my adrenaline in a fight or flight scenario.
My heart rate increases and my pupils dilate and I do feel a little tired after it.
Now I know as a sensible person that this sounds fanatical and far fetched, but please take me seriously I can really do this and so can some other people… what does it mean?
I suspect it is linked to the pineal gland due to what I have researched and from my own personal experience of where the feeling starts from (the back of my neck), its ‘almost’ like adrenaline coming from the middle of my brain to the back of my neck and then down, that is what it feels like and I can turn it off and on when I please, my brain is telling me it can’t be adrenaline because I should not be able to control that function but that is exactly what it feels like and my body confirms this to me (increased BP and Heart Rate with dilated pupils)
I’m not crazy and I’m not making this up, I will happily be more specific about it to anyone who can potentially help me.
Please do not answer with any ‘Wanted wannabe your a fake’ type responses, I have taken the time to do this because I honestly want some answers about this and this is a last ditch attempt to see if anyone out there can help
Ok maybe I left that door wide open for someone to walk through so its my fault.
I have spoken to several doctors about this, five actually. The first 4 said it was impossible and didn’t believe that I could do it the last one was very interested and wants me to go for blood tests which I have coming in the next few weeks….
So yes this is a last ditch as I have explored many other avenues…. thanks
I can do it too. I have never met anyone eles that can do it. I first figured out i could do it from skating. When I would skate I would get an adrenaline rush over and over. I kept making myself get adrenaline rushes until I learned how to do it. Now I can control it whenever I want. My pulse comes from my chest and I can control it to go wherever I want it to. I would be very interested in learning more! Email me.
Hey I wonder if you will even get this, but I have the *exact* same feelings as you get. I get this euphoric build up but it never quite hits the level you describe for me I think because I’m too anxious to build it up. I’m afraid I’ll explode or something. Too bad we couldn’t chat about this more. Would love to!
Same here on the adrenaline but i though everyone could do that rumbling noise thing i just do it when i hear things that i dont want to hear.
Sometimes I can feel that rush on command but it’s few and far between but I understand what you mean when you said about the rumbling in your ears. It’s kind of like something vibrating between your ears and you can hear it usually when you yawn.
Can anyone explain how to do it, do you have to focus on imagining an intense situation or is it like a muscle you activate? Either way can you explain more about how to do it instead of what it’s like to do it.
Me too! I can do exactly what ur saying, but instead of it feeling like its coming from my brain, it feels like its coming from my heart. I showed others and they just thought it was weird. I don’t think everyone can do that, thats why I can’t find any info on it. I want answers too, email me.
I can do this, too! I want to know what it is. This is the only thread I can find about it. Like Brandon said, I can turn on just like when you pee. For me though, I have to hold it “on” and when I let go, it stops.
I tried as well, I went from 63 bpm to 128 in one minute… Doubling your heart rate in a minute is a little weird
I can do this too, I just recently noticed the heart rate increase (I found mine, from 63 to 128, in one minute..) and pupils dilation today, which made me look it up to find this. Everything I’ve read says releasing adrenaline is impossible? More importantly, is it dangerous?
I’ve been able to do this as long as I remember as well I won’t go into detail because we all already know…you can choose the intensity, where it happens in your body and all that good stuff. I have two things to add after years of researching this. I have a much harder time activating this ability when there foreign substances in my body(weed & alcohol). Second, if you activate it for a quick second, let it go, and do that repeatedly…the intensity will increase naturally every time you “jolt” yourself. My theory is maybe it’s something to do with vibration or maybe resonance with the heart.
You are indeed not the only one. I have no clue how it works either but I have this ability and I do beleive it really ups my concentration and strenght and speed. Sounds like adrenaline to me but I was also told its impossible. Other thing I can do that people dont beleive me I can, Slow my heartrate momentaraly, go to like 30 bpm for a a couple of seconds willignly. Weird stuff. The doctor couldnt explain it but my normal HR is like 55 to 60 and very stable if I dont do anything.
I am also able to do this but didnt know until recently that nobody else could until a friend told me im messing with my adrenaline or something like that. I have been able to do this since i was about 14, it leaves me really hot after and i also find if i tense a part of my body at the same time it makes it cramp up. Does anybody know how or why i can do it??
I was the only person I knew that could do this too. I also have a “surge” ability that starts in the center of my body and keeps getting stronger until my body shakes and I stop. What is this???
Hi I had an experience with a adrenaline rush. It was when I was playing football with my friends for the first time next to a random elementary . I did not know any of them so i felt very nervous , and did not want to be the person who was made fun of as I was not athletic and I barely had a weight of around 100 pounds. While I was there I was playing with them as normal and just being the person on the side and not being very active in the game .when I finally got the ball though I was so nervous that I felt it go to my body , as a sense of heat went through my stomach and I felt it go through my body…which only had a moment to feel when all of a sudden the one person who weighed 5x as my weight and who looked a lot bigger and stronger and who I was most cautious around had charged at me . He had tackled me so hard that my head hit the ground his whole body weight had slammed so hard the breath was taken from my lungs as I lay on the floor…….but I felt nothing as I just got up and actually felt alive. It was as if that impact had just filled me with so much energy that I felt actually pretty aware of my suroundings. My friends were asking if I was ok and I just nodded my headed and gestured to continue playing. So we did. But this time was different I got the ball and was faster then I thought before I could actually compete in running against my friend who saw as the fastest in the enemy team. I was able to catch a ball unlike anything I knew I was capable of(as I’ve never played football or ever touched thrown or caught a ball).Feeling like an animal my team had won and they looked at me and said dude wow. That day felt great. But the next morning I woke up with my body in full minor pain and the next time I played with them I actually sucked at the sport.i never got to do the same as that one day
I also have this “surge” ability ever since I could start forming memories. Probably around the age of 4 or 5. I remember doing it as a young kid before I would sprint across the house or something. The feeling is almost like when you let yourself pee or when your ears pop. I can do this ability at certain amounts of power, low frequency and a very high frequency till my body shakes and I have to release it. The feeling starts at the top of my spine and usually fluctuates throughout my entire body but when I’m bored I can send it to certain specific parts of my body. It’s almost like a deep relaxation where you relax all your limbs and muscles and feel like you are on top of a mountain with a cool breeze going through you. I’ve been researching this off and on, for about 7-8 years. If anyone has any more information on this please let me know email me or text me 478-955-1300. I’ve thought of going to see a cardiologist and see what he has to say. I’ve baffled my mother for she is a nurse, showing her my pupil dilation, heart rate increase, blood pressure, and even temperature changes. 23 year old male
I have this ability too! How can I reach you? I’ve debated on seeing a cardiologist to get professional prognosis
I am very much the same, when I was a child I would dream that I was falling down the stairs and I would feel this intense sensation.
I have since been able to access what I feel is my adrenaline switch in situations that are say not so stressful flight or fight. For example I often have an amazing amount of strength, I’m a 5’1 chick who carries all the shopping in at once even the heavy’s. My friends make a joke in a bar that if I can pick a man up then that man has to by me a drink and I kid you not I have never not been able to lift any man they pick out.. I’m not hench on the upper body or anything and it always comes as a shock. I have pushed cars out of mud and snow.
At the time of being this weird strong person I believe I am accessing my adrenaline as I get this goosebump cold feeling down my neck, my chest goes warm, and my legs burn up. Then after some time my heart races, I know it’s like borderline panic attack so I have to stop myself.
I too can control my adrenaline, like flipping a switch, or more like a dimmer switch, where as I can control the intensity. And it does help with strength. I also find the ear rumblings useful for me to deaden sudden loud sounds.
I can do this as well and am glad that there are other people that have this special ‘gift’. My experience is similar, however after reading the comments it is clear that people have different experiences and intensities. When I trigger this rush, I become fidgety and can’t stay still. The biggest difference between me and the others I have read is that strangely, the cold sensation begins from my center (near the heart) and spreads throughout my body. This makes me slightly doubt that I have this same ability and perhaps it is different. I don’t know.
I am able to do this as well, but I believe I have a theory: Have you tried to compare that tingling feeling that your feeling in the back of your neck to any other feelings you’ve had? For me it’s almost like the thrill of being on a roller coaster. That being said, I believe what we’re doing is replicating the “Falling” feeling. Aka tricking our minds into thinking that we’re falling and when you fall, you in turn DO activate your adrenaline. So when you look at it like this, it does make a fair amount of sense. Being able to activate adrenaline on demand and all.
I have had this ability since I first remember as a very young child. I was researching to determine whether or not I could use this odd talent to cheat a polygraph test. I had no idea other people had this.
I am a female and I can do the same thing, the ears, anxiety , I need a GPS to go every where, and the adrenaline has been able to be controlled better as I have done it
Another weirdo here! I can also activate that strange overwhelming feeling in my chest, as well as that rumbling sound in my eardrum that sort of mutes mid-tones. Did you ever get any information about either of those? I would love to know what is physically happening.
