Quotes of Osho, from The Hidden Splendor
Prayer is not the right kind of religion. Any religion that is based on prayer is a wrong religion. Only religions which are based on meditation have some quality of religiousness, because meditation takes you inwards to your very foundation of life, to the source of your consciousness.
Prayer is simply insane. Raising your hands upwards — and there is nobody. When people talk to nobody you call them mad. If somebody is talking to nobody you will immediately take him to the hospital: something is wrong with this man, he was standing under a tree and there was nobody and he was talking and having a good dialogue!
What is Christianity doing? And what are other prayer religions doing? Talking to nobody.
These are insane people who need psychiatric help. And because every family teaches you hypocrisy, you become schizophrenic. You have your individuality repressed by a personality given by your family — you are divided into two. You will remain always in conflict, fighting within yourself, with yourself. You will become two. You can become many, it depends .
Excerpts from this book
I am a Christian and I have getting into Chakra Meditation and all that.
I am wondering if this religion is against my religion.
Daniel… why was Jesus’s life not mentioned in the Bible when he was between the ages of 13 and 30 ? where was he then ?. He was travelling around Asia learning to be a Yogi, to open and balance his chakras & meditate in order to reach spiritual enlightenment. When he returned Rome did not like this and his teachings ! They create their own version of Jesus to suit them and keep power and edit the Bible so we would not know the truth !. Jesus never claimed to be Christ… that it what the Roman Catholic church wanted us to be fooled into believing
‘@amar amara curar – With all due understanding and respect, why you believe it’s unfair that eternal peace is only available to those of the Judeo Christian faith? If God chose to reveal His true self and teachings to people through His own in human form, then anyone who rejects those teachings directly rejects him. That is not unfair; it is just that those who follow His ways as He intended throughout all recorded history are following the true God, not one of their own conception to match their personal comforts. I have never felt more free and less limited than when I started following the ancient church, as opposed to the self-pleasing churches more common in the West. Give me more of these guidelines, because they work. It is ungodly acts that have ruined pieces of my life, and God that has healed them. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, because they will be awestruck, not necessarily because they will continue an existence of serving God.
I think it’s best to stay away from anything that bothers your conscience, including Chakra. Although I no longer follow the loose rules of Protestantism, Martin Luther’s words are true that it is neither right nor safe to go against conscience. There are other way to find healing than through anti-Christian ideology methods. This coming from someone seeking treatment for MECFS and depression, but also believing that they have led me to seek and lean on God in a way I most certainly would not have otherwise, and for that I am thankful. I have learned the most important and life-changing lessons in life through adversity, as have most all Biblical heroes and Catholic/Orthodox saints. God bless you in your personal journey!
If that’s what you believe then you’re not really a Christian.
The Bible, if you had ever read it, was written by chosen men of God, some who never knew death, it is inspired and annointed by the holy Spirit to bring truth to all man kind.
To be a Christian is to be Christ like, and Christ never meditated or played with green stones. His yes was always yes and his no was and still is no.
Don’t be fooled, you won’t mock the truth of Christ.
You’re either a Christian or you’re not. And no true Christian will ever be found meditating and playing with stones, nor will a true Christian doubt the annointed, infallible word of God.
You’ve been playing with middle Eastern mysticism, those are some very powerful, evil spirits to play with when you are truly ignorant of all of that.
If you don’t believe or understand the written word of God, then you were never a Christian to begin with.
To be a Christian is to have faith in every word spoken by God, Jesus Christ, the Holy spirit, all three in one.
Revelation 22:18-19 King James Version (KJV)
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
The existence of this “energy” or whatever other name you want to use for it has been proven. Just throwing that out there before anything else. Anyways, I’m a Christian. I believe Christ is the one truth, the one way, and the one life. I also believe that much of what was part of early Christianity is now considered taboo. Meditation, mantras, healing, opening up your spiritual body is not a bad thing at all. The thing that we, as Christians, need to make sure of is that we’re aligning ourselves with the right source, and that is God. Meditation should not take the place of communicative prayer or staying in scripture. But it can be a great practice.
I respect your religion and your response to this for I am also a christian. But now I have a question for you. And that is, if the bible was made by man and edited to peoples beliefs, how can we truly know if the bible is real? The bible doesn’t say anything about awakening natural energy and it being related to Satan or a serpent in any way. In reality i don’t see it as anything bad or sinful. Having a friend named Jesus, doesn’t mean he is Jesus. And practicing opening up chakras or “kundalini”. Its awakening or uncoiling your energy.
I’m a bit conflicted with this. I’m Catholic. When I went to a Catholic retreat, I felt the Holy Spirit hit me the way it is described as the Kundalini. I felt an electric zing on my spine go around it, from bottom to top.
One night I did some intense praying, then I put on some head ohones and starting doing one if these meditation videos from youtube with a green stone which I set as Archangel Raphael( I guess you can say I mixed in a little new age)…I saw the wooden cross of Jesus then a green flash light that went towards an injured eye I had. It cured my eye from an injury.
I threw away all of my stones/crystals. As much as I loved them, I didn’t want to risk them attaching bad energy.
I see nothing wrong with quieting the mind to angelic music after prayer and calling the Holy Spirit the whole entire time. This sounds like a safe bet to me. But opening chakras, idk…I don’t want to take chances inviting something that isn’t good.
I’m one those who sometimes doesn’t know what the heck shes doing.
It probably is against your religion but it isnt against the bibe. Why do you think fundamentalist are so set against it? It doesnt make Jesus irrelevant it proves that he is God! Who could open the 7 seals in the book of revelations? Only the lamb of God, and when the 7th seal was open there was silence in heaven. Paraphrasing— when the crown chakra is opened there is total tranquility in the mind and a union with God. ancients called it Samadhi. Jacob claimed he had seen God face to face and called the place Peniel(the pineal gland-the third eye) As the lightning flashes from one part of heaven unto the other- is simply neurons firing when the pineal gland is activated. Luke 17 the kingdom of heaven isnt something that is here or there the kingdom of heaven is within you! Woe unto you Pharisees for you will not enter in yourselves and you hinder those who would enter in. Do you not know your body is the temple of God? Awake O sleeper, rise up from the dead and Christ will give you light. We could go on all night. If meditating is bad because you observe your thoughts then I am in big trouble I am going to bed and sleep and be totally unconscious.—–spooky huh. Good night and God Bless. Then you will know the truth and the truth shall set you free
All very interesting, religion is meant to be a tool not a weapon. But remember there is opposition in all things. I follow the dictates of my own conscience and allow all me the same privilege.
Let them worship how or where or what they may. Agape.
Heavenly Father loves me and all his children. He created us and is in all of us. Choose who you will allow into your heart. I ask God for help and he sends what Or whom I need. I put my Faith in God.
I liked all the comments. Free choice is sacred. Never let anyone or anything take that away and protect your heart. I have gained more insight: Thank you!
troy, I think you have captured the fundamental difference between Christianity and Hinduism. The Christian starts from a position of permanent disempowerment – in your words, we are “sinners needing a saviour”.
The Hindu doesn’t dwell in this place. It’s serves little to have a deficit mindset. To their lens, it is a simple tenant: “look at God, emulate, and you will be godlike.”
In full disclosure, my mother is Catholic and my father is Hindu. Seeing the world through both their lenses and rationalizing them both, has been an interesting journey.
Mysticism and Spirtualty come under new age teachings were you are taught to be/become your own God by being self reliant on the power within. You don’t have to ask God for anything because you being your own God can do all things for yourself. You never repeant because you decide right and wrong, you can heal without the holy spirit and be one with everything around you. So if your a Christian is say keep away from it as the bible teachers that with God all things a possible it doesn’t teach us to be God, bless ourselves and tap into power source that is not from him. It teaches us we are the likeness of God and with him we can do all things Jesus done. Operative word being “with him” and there shall be no other God’s amount you. So becoming God would be going against his word.
False. Chakra is not just about energy points and flow of energy. Chakra is about seeking enlightenment and becoming one with the divine cosmos. It stems from Eastern Mysticism. It is not at all scientific. You cannot test it as a hypothesis. The meditation used is called, “Kundalini.” It is named after a serpent-like goddess. Such false teachings completely oppose the gospel. The gospel teaches we are sinners in need of a savior. The Chakra teaches we don’t need a savior, we simply meditate until we become perfect in every way. That is a false teaching and not at all of God.
Is meditating Chakras against Christianity? Absolutely without a doubt, yes.
Christianity is based on the belief that there is one God. He reveals himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He says we are to have no other gods before him. He has given us his word and the gospel. Part of that message states, “What does light have to do with darkness.”
Chakras come from Eastern Mysticism and denies the gospel completely. It seeks to have us become our own divine nature and be one with the cosmos. It comes from a practice Kundalini, which literally means “that which is coiled.” Kundalini is also the name of a goddess. The ‘uncoiling” of this goddess brings divine enlightenment. So, how can a Christian follow the false teachings about enlightenment from a snake-like goddess? The same concept of the chakras is what we see in Genesis when Satan (coiled serpent) stated to Eve that eating of the fruit would make her like a god.
This teaching denies the gospel that we are all sinners in need of a savior. It seeks to destroy the power of the blood of Christ when he died on the cross. If you can reach “enlightenment” from this meditation, then why did Christ die? Eastern Mysticism is direct contrast to Christianity. Truth cannot contradict Truth.
Thanks for your enlightened response. I have always felt that there was one God and on judgment day, yes we will be judged but we will all will have the opportunity to accept the truth and enter into heaven (for lack of a better phrase). For a while I have wrestled with the concept of religion and felt it was a tad unfair that eternal peace is only available to those of the Christian faith. I have also felt the nagging urge to explore my spirituality and my connection to God, the Universe, Mother Earth and other human beings. However, until recently, my Christian faith has prevented me from doing so. I have accepted religion as a systematic system designed to limit our individual power and direct connection to our Father. I do believe, when we go home there will be followers of all faiths among us. Afterall, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess…
This resonates so much work how I feel as well. GOD knows our heart. If meditation helps you ease the things that bother you, then it is God himself that is blessing the energy healing process. I can’t think God rejects me for trying to heal emotionally through this very effective method (for me, at least)
