I know I know a lot of people are going to say that this fortune telling stuff isn’t real but I just found these old tarot cards in the basement and I was wondering how you use them? like how you tell the future with them I’m just bored and I thought if my friends acidentally [yes really accidentally I’m not going to rearrange the cards] got a bad fortune then it’d be fun to see them freak out
Don’t believe in that stuff, it is the work of the devil. Turn to God, believe that Jesus is the son of God and he will direct you.
16″For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Different layouts can be used for the cards in order to read them. And with that comes different ways of “predicting” future events. Below I have the basics of tarot, including card meanings and layouts.
ARE HOROSCOPES RELIABLE?
“At times you are outgoing, but at other times you are reserved. You find it unwise to reveal too much about yourself to strangers. You are an independent thinker who needs proof of a matter before gullibly accepting it. You like variety in life, and you become unhappy when you are hemmed in by rules. You have great potential, which you have not tapped entirely. You tend to be critical of your performance and abilities.”
Does that sound like you? If so, you may be putting more meaning into the description than it deserves. After all, most of the above statements are true for the majority of people. Hence, readers will tend to accept those statements that seem accurate and ignore those that do not. According to the book Why Do Buses Come in Threes–The Hidden Mathematics of Everyday Life, “researchers have found that if the star signs on a horoscope are removed, people are unable to identify which paragraph belongs to their own sign, but if the signs are included they will believe their own star reading to be the most accurate.”
The Bible–A Reliable Guide
Millions have found the Bible to be a reliable guide in making decisions. As the psalmist David put it, “the reminder of Jehovah is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise.” (Psalm 19:7; 119:105) This does not mean that the Bible spells out precisely what a person should do in each situation. But God’s Word does contain principles that can help us train our perceptive powers. This, in turn, will enable us to discern right and wrong and will help us to make wise decisions.–Hebrews 5:14.
Thus, it is for good reason that genuine Christians do not consult horoscopes, even for entertainment or out of curiosity. Instead, they wisely heed the warnings in God’s Word against all demon influence, including subtle forms. By letting the Bible rather than the zodiac influence your life, you can enjoy God’s blessing eternally.–Psalm 37:29, 38.
I have to admit, I’ve been a bad person. I am Mennonite and I have a set of tarot cards. I’ve only used them twice to do readings on two different people. My particular set I got from the bookstore at the mall and it came with an instructional booklet, so I just went from that. According to your question, it sounds like you have no instruction book. I found this two sites you may check out:
and this one might be of benefit to you as well:
I don’t really advocate the use of Tarot cards. Idk whatever possessed me in buying a deck and I am not proud of it. But I will tell you one thing it says in my instructional book- you must become intimate with your deck and know them inside and out and wrap them in a satin fabric and store them in a dry, cool place out of sunlight and in a private place. They are yours and yours only and don’t let anyone else touch them. Just as you know them, they know you as well. Soon you will be using them with ease. Have fun with them and be careful.
G-d bless. <><
You shuffle the deck, you lay out the cards and then you read what they say to the person you are doing it for… and then they self prophesize and make it happen because they want it to.
(It’s fake people.. cmon now)
It is very simple – they are useful only for lighting a fire, similar to kindling, unless they are wax coated, then just line a bird cage with them. The reading part is easy as well; no instructions necessary except the ones given above :]
Tarot cards are extremely evil, they open up a door to the devil that is impossible to close without the blood of Jesus. The devil can make things look really good, and seem good for your life, even just in fun. (2 Corinthians 11:14, Contemporary English Version: And it is no wonder. Even Satan tries to make himself look like an angel of light.) (Ephesians 6:12 This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.)
International Standard Version (©2008)
For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.
(Colossians 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, (NASB ©1995)
Please reconsider this, and seek God’s word, tarot cards can really ruin your life in the long run, I have seen evidence of this.
The Tarot is used for spiritual guidance. It isn’t supposed to be to freak out your friends.
I hope if you do use them, you will use them in the proper way.
I will not tell you whether or not you should read Tarot cards. As a game player, I would like to say that card reading is not the only nor is it the actual intended purpose of Tarot cards. Tarot cards are also used to play card games. The Tarot first appeared in northern Italy in the 15th century where it was used to play a card game similar to Spades or Sheepshead. People in continental Europe currently play card games with Tarot cards. The internet is starting to expose these Tarot games to the world at large but unfortunately the popular media in countries such as the US still persist in portraying these cards in a very one-sided fashion when doing reports on psychics and fortune telling giving most Americans a very distorted perception of this artifact. Contrary to popular myth, there is really nothing inherently “occult” or “Satanic” about Tarot cards. The traditional Tarot images are actually rooted in Catholicism and Tarot card reading would not be practiced until the 18th century.
