first, find a crop, then, use a tractor and go in like a helecopter, use a walky-talky to tell the tractor dude where to go.

If you want to create it in tall grass you just need a 2 x 4 and some rope. http://www.ags.dk/as/crop/ufofake.HTM

There’s another was to make a more permanent one in short grass that involves actually digging out the pattern then replacing the sod.

You need to land your spacecraft carefully into the field, so you don’t scorch the crop.

To make it look lower than the surrounding land, get to 4 feet, then disengage ‘Auto land’ function.

Works for me every time!

take a board and drill 2 holes, one on each end, as if you were making a crappy swing out of it, and tie rope through it. then put one foot on the board, holding the rope like reins and stop down on the grass. the board should look something like this.

are you actually making a crop circle?
if you are some techniques would be to use a tractor, but i doubt you have one.

You can get ropes and attach wooden planks to them and use your foot to press down on the field with the wooden planks. use the rope to hold the board to your foot. then plow the field over!!! have fun.

when you say, “lower than the land around it”, do you mean like a trench, a pit?
Students (from M.I.T., I believe) attempted to recreate a crop circle and were judged on it the following morning. Im pretty sure you can find the video of it somewhere. I saw it on television.
Basically, they used wood platforms, about the size of a dinner tray, at foot level, and tied to a rope behind the wearer’s neck. As they took each step, they pushed the crops down and stood on the platform. It was a LOT of work to do, and was not perfect in the end.

find hills that has a shallow area and plenty
of wheat or mase.layout your desighn by walking
around it once for a outline nail 2 each 2 x4 together drill one inch hole in each and rope
through and tie a big knot.stand on the platform
and walk it down outline pushing the wheat down. YES a lot of work.Do you want the easy
way? do it on a small scale and making a
poster.using all weather carpet, glue it to your
poster board.draw your simple outline, and use
paint brush apply glue to. the part your going to
push down.
