The story of Jesus was borrowed from ancient pagan religions that predate the Bible?

If this is true, why has this information been withheld from the general public for so long? Now that we have the internet, will this information reach everybody? What will happen to religion once everybody knows this information?

Yes. Though Odin, Norse Myth is older than said bible, only written accts are about 1000 years old. Odin was crucified.

It’s not withheld, it’s blatantly ignored. Common knowledge to everyone who isn’t Christian.

No actual scholar will agree to this, the theosophic accusations against Christianity borrowing from ancient egyptian religions (which date back only to the 18th century) are the result of Zeitgeist propaganda of Peter Joseph, Jordan Maxwell, and Acharya S, who admittedly adhere to the teachings of Helena Blavatsky (founder of theosophy) and her diciple Alice Ann Bailey, that cannot back up their accusations with facts and research.
The atheists who actually believe this lie are subconsciously following Luciferian Doctrines, without even knowing it.
Sad indeed.
Do some ACTUAL research into these myths and you will find zero similarities between Christianity and ancient religions. But you’re all too stupid and lazy to do so, so you believe claims that support your own agenda.

Bishop McFeely - Altar Boy Lover

It hasn’t been withheld. Believers just dismiss it as nonsense. But the virgin birth story was around long before christianity and it’s been used in too many religions to count. But christians indoctrinate their members so when info like this gets to them, they blow it off as lies, etc. That’s how indoctrination works.

Now you don’t think religious folk will accept the truth that easily do you

They are stubbornly ignorant.

Christians will still believe it all. These people are capable of rejecting just about any obvious fact if it contradicts their beliefs.

The Jesus fable is heavily based on other dead ‘gods’. Jesus is a plagiarized amalgamation of over a dozen — much older — messiah myths based on ancient sun worship –In this particular case, the pagan celebration of the winter solstice (“Christmas”) and the spring equinox (“Easter”).

1.) We’ve known that for a long time
2.) Because most of the entire purpose of popular religions is to control masses. People who invade and take over countries often “bring religion with them,” and they have been altered to keep grips on the public in these modern times.
3.) No this information will not reach everybody. The internet is limited, which is why the answer to your next question is…
4.) Nothing because people will choose to believe whatever suits them best.
@ Desert Wisdom: Actually, Acharya has addressed each and every one of your findings, and has written a book in which she has thoroughly researched and cited each and every one of her points with valid background as you could see by simply reading the work.

You are really gullible and full of hogwash. How do you walk around with so little real knowledge of Jesus Christ the creator of the world?
You are amazingly foolish.
scriptures that prove it.
1 Corinthians 10:4 (New International Version)
4and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
Rock was Christ
Jesus is the member of the Godhead that made everything.
1 John 1:10 (New International Version)
10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
Colossians 1:16 (New International Version)
16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
Hebrews 1:1 (New International Version)
The Son Superior to Angels
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
Jesus is the One who made Adam and Eve
Jesus Christ was the One who walked in the garden with Adam and Eve in bodily form.
Jesus Loves to be inside of us.
Exodus 25:8 (New International Version)
8 “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.
Jesus is the heart of God
Hebrews 8:1 (New Living Translation)
Christ Is Our High Priest
1 Here is the main point: We have a High Priest who sat down in the place of honor beside the throne of the majestic God in heaven.
Hebrews 9:22 (New Living Translation)
22 In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
Cleansed us in heaven with His blood.
Colossians 1:16-17 (New Living Translation)
16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see–
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
17 He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
Jesus holds all the strings in the Unverse together.
Hebrews 10:19-22 (New Living Translation)
A Call to Persevere
19 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death,[b] Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

“If this is true, why has this information been withheld from the general public for so long?”
It isn’t true. The internet has just given Gerald Massey & Co a wider audience, and, needless to say, atheists swallow it wholesale.

Nothing much “will happen to religion once everybody knows this information”. First of all, this news would really only affect one religion: Christianity. Most other religions see Christian theology as no less mythological as those of other religions.
Second of all, I imagine you’ll see Christians just taking an approach to Jesus similar to how Buddhists approach Buddha: a figure to emulate, regardless of the historical accuracy.
Third of all, it took the Catholic church some 300 years to formally admit that the earth revolves around the sun, so I imagine something like this will take even longer.

I do not put much stock in this as there is very little, if any, evidence to suggest this and the concept of a messiah was a theme of the Jewish religion. In fact, at least one other messianic figure was written about before Jesus’ time with some similar details and there are sects that still believe that John the Baptist was the messiah.
I do not dispute that Christianity has, over the years, “borrowed” various concepts from other religions, just that it does not have its genesis in them. However, just because a myth was not based on other myths, does not mean that it is not a myth.
Just because there are other, dead and resurrected gods or similar concepts in older religions does not mean that Christianity built on them, but it does show that Christianity is not unique and that humans will come up with similar concepts (this should not be a surprise).
To be truthful, there are more damaging “skeletons” in Christianity’s closet than drawing off of other religions. For example, no first century Christian writer mentioned the physical resurrection of Jesus and they often used mythical examples to illustrate how Christians would be resurrected. Paul does not quote the Gospels and the one passage that might be considered a “quote”, most likely was borrowed from Paul’s writings or both got it from a yet unknown source.

It hasn’t been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All this is available in any syllabus of any prof teaching either New Testament, Old Testament, or Religious Studies in just about any undergrad school you wish to look at. Look at any catalog on line. Then write the prof to send you a list of his assigned texts.
Your minister, if he went at all to any recognized seminary, is fully aware of all these myths, as well as a critical-historical analysis of the Bible, as well.
If you wish to save yourself some money, and read some of the books used in these classes, get them from, cheap in paperback. Try the ones below.
THE New Testament scholar of this era is Bart Ehrman. Peer reviewed, top guy.
Read any of his 20 books. Jesus Interrupted, Misquoting Jesus, and maybe best of all, Lost Christianities. These and others of his words are used in any of these classes.
Here’s a few topics to get you started: Google:
Gospels of Thomas, Philip, Mary. As well as The Acts of Paul and Thecla. Appolonius of Tyana, or in general, List of Messiahs who were crucified. As well, look up Early Christian Sects… Ebionists, Marcionites, and Gnostics, and find out why Christianity is today what it is.
Ehrman started out as a Roman Catholic and became a fundamentalist minister. That just didn’t set too well with him, so he returned to grad school, and learned to read and write ancient Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic. Then pinged all over the planet to read every copy of everything in Christian history he could get his hands on. He holds an endowed chair at a university. Sweetie, ya can’t get too much better than that, can ya?
And if you wish, write for any specific question of the first 300 years of Christianity.
