Strong Christians out there, do you think Buddha statues are cursed and what other objects can be cursed?

Show me some scriptures too and also what kind of things will happen when you leave these accursed items in your house?

  1. Die hard Catholic here Janie, your answer is another myth about the Catholic faith. We don’t believe that statues are cursed because they are from a different faith or culture. I have a statue of Ho Toi that was a gift. I know it is simply a statue. It is not an idol, and it has no curse. Pax Christi

  2. Deu 29:17 And you have seen their detestable things, and their idols of wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them;
    Deu 29:18 that there not be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away today from Jehovah our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you today a root that bears gall and wormwood;
    Deu 29:19 and it happens when he hears the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to snatch away the drunken with the thirsty.
    Deu 29:20 Jehovah will not be willing to forgive him, for then Jehovah’s anger and His zeal shall smoke, and His zeal shall be against that man, and all the curses written in this book shall lie upon him. And Jehovah shall blot out his name from under the heavens.
    Deu 29:21 And Jehovah shall set him apart to evil, out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the Law;
    Deu 29:22 so that the generation to come, your sons who rise after you, and the foreigner who comes in from a distant land, shall say when they see the plagues of that land, and its sicknesses which Jehovah shall send into it,
    Deu 29:23 The whole land shall be burned with brimstone and salt; it shall not be sown, nor shall it sprout; nor shall there be any herb in it. It shall be like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overthrew in His anger and in His fury.
    Deu 29:24 And all the nations shall say, Why has Jehovah done this to this land? For what is the heat of this great anger?
    Deu 29:25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.
    Deu 29:26 For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods which they did not know, and who had not divided to them any portion.
    Deu 29:27 And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.
    Deu 29:28 And Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger and wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
    Deu 29:29 The secret things belong to Jehovah our God; and the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may do all the Words of this Law.
    Jos 7:15 And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
    Jos 7:16 So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
    Jos 7:17 And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
    Jos 7:18 And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
    Jos 7:19 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.
    Jos 7:20 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
    Jos 7:21 When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
    Jos 7:22 So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
    Jos 7:23 And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.
    Jos 7:24 And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.
    Jos 7:25 And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
    Jos 7:26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.

  3. Actually, some die-hard catholics believe it’s unlucky/cursed/sacrilegious(not sure of the right word to use there) to have statues of another religion in their house such as buddha. I think it’s an ignorant superstition, but hey, some people believe it.

  4. funny how Jesus-ers will go on and on about buddha statue as Idol worship
    yet go to churches with the most elabrately painted stain glass windows of bible characters

  5. Isaiah 41:21 – 24
    “Present your case,” says the LORD.
    “Set forth your arguments,” says Jacob’s King.
    “Bring in your idols to tell us
    what is going to happen.
    Tell us what the former things were,
    so that we may consider them
    and know their final outcome.
    Or declare to us the things to come,
    tell us what the future holds,
    so we may know that you are gods.
    Do something, whether good or bad,
    so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.
    But you are less than nothing
    and your works are utterly worthless;
    he who chooses you is detestable.

  6. That’s gotta be one of the all-time dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard on here – and I’ve heard a few.
