Spiritually Speaking, since our consciousness is non-existent after we die…?

Wouldn’t that mean that it only exists in the time that we were alive, hence when we die we merely relive our lives tragically over and over again?
Just a thought, considering non-existence is not restricted by the boundaries of spacetime.

  1. In some sense, yes, and in some sense, we live forever.
But to claim with certainty that there is no afterlife is going too far, as there are some hypothetical ideas that might make an afterlife a possibility.

  2. “since our consciousness is non-existent after we die…”
    Really?
So you’ve come back from being dead?
Neat. When are you going on tour?
Seriously: We don’t know, except for the here and now and some us have trouble with that… LOL

  3. Well,in the resurrection we are called up.First them that fell asleep in christ, then the living that are of christ will meet them in the air, well let’s let the scripture say it:
    (50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit in corruption. (51) Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed– (52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (54) So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
    (55) “ O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
    (56) The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. (57) But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    (58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Well let me know if this helps you, plus the word of God says :
    ((Hebrews 9:27))
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

  4. It’s more like feeling and knowing nothing really. It’s more like when you sleep and don’t have any concept of time other than the fact you know it has passed. The bible describes death to be as sleeping until god awakens us again.

  5. Erm…you’ve made a completely unjustified leap of logic here.
Yes – in all likelihood conciousness does not survice our deaths – so you’ve concluded that we live the same life “over and over again”? Why?
“Non-existence is not restricted by the boundaries of spacetime”. Erm…non-existence has no qualities whatsoever. Therefore making any claims at all about it is nonsensical.
You know what? The more of your q&a’s I see on here – the more astounded I am that you were posting questions last week about other users being stupid. Wow.

  6. Hi! According to the scriptures, It is appointed unto man once to die, after that the judgment.(Hebrews 9:27.Believers have accepted Christs’ payment for their sins,so they can never be brought up against them. Our judgment is for rewards, what was done through us.We cast them at Christs’ feet. The unbelievers are judged by their works. The only work He asked you to do is to believe on His Son. Your sins are already payed for! Just have to reach out and take the gift! Eternal Life!. It’s hard to say,but the truth is, we will never be unconscious. Forever in Gods’ Presence,or forever in outer darkness, totally alone with tragic thoughts and pain forever.

  7. Correction. Our consciousness does exist after we die. Our immortal soul which is the subject of human consciousness and freedom goes to meet God the moment we die.

  8. Consciousness as you describe requires a biological process.
When the process ceases so does consiousness.
    Spacetime doesn’t enter into it.

  9. Hypothetically, you mean.
If you can prove to the world what goes on below the quantum level, I’ll take your word over anyone else.
