Spiritual Obama … Is this common knowledge?

I am not American, but I just read this and woner how many voters know this … it’s pretty scarey, but maybe not so much in America if he has gotton this far. Quote:
Obama’s record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion — a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called “too close to infanticide.” Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be “punished with a baby” because of a crisis pregnancy…………
These trends reached their logical culmination during a congressional debate on partial-birth abortion in 1999. When Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer was pressed to affirm that she opposed the medical killing of children after birth, she refused to commit, saying that children deserve legal protection only “when you bring your baby home.” It was unclear whether this included the car trip.

Explanations of partial birth:
I see what you mean about Iran. Most times it is a choice of trying to find the ‘lesser of two evils’ when it comes to politics. I’m glad our country (Oz) is getting out of the war.
That said – killing a baby when it’s whole body is ‘out’, just becuase the head is not. Do you not all find that particularly horrifying? (please see the you tube references, showing size of ‘baby’)

  1. I agree, Obama’s abortion voting has been far too extreme for my liking. I’m all for early-term abortion, but partial birth abortion, and late term abortion are a little too close to murder for my blood.

  2. Thank God Obama understands what the Christian right wing is really trying to accomplish and cut them off at the start.
If you are honest with us Lucy, you will admit that one of the biggest reasons for your abortion position, is your belief that it causes teenagers to have casual sex. Obama understands what you folks are really trying to accomplish, and wont allow you to get your ‘moral’ standards legislated under false presences.
There is a reason why the Republicans, don’t really push for banning abortion when they are in control of congress and the executive branch either. Simply put, they understand it for what it is, and know that the pro life movement is really about legislating morality, not saving babies.

  3. He is running ads in multiple states touting his strong support for choice, so I daresay it is indeed common knowledge.

  4. yes it is known and no one seems to care. I do and will not be voting for him based on a number of issues this being a big one.

  5. Palin made rape victims pay for their own rape kits and calls the war in Iraq “God’s mission”.
McCain makes jokes about bombing Iran and wants to stay in a war we had no right to start in the first place.
I guess their concern for life ends when the baby is born.

  6. Congrats to Obama for not superstitiously opposing abortion. It’s nice to know that in so many respects, superstition doesn’t inform our law.

  7. Isn’t that scary?! I’m an American and I would move to another country if he’s our next president!
And, what’s even more worse, is that he is a muslim and he admitted it!
What will our nation become of?
I’m glad you are not in America!
    God bless!

  8. And Palin thinks that girls who have been raped by a relative should be forced to carry a baby no matter how badly it could traumatize them or how badly it could affect their health.

  9. To many Obama supporters, they are aware of this, but refuse to acknowledge it. To others, they are indeed unaware. To still others, they seem unable to see beyond his exterior. Thank you for your post.

  10. Well it may be because, even if he wouldn’t have an abortion, he wouldn’t restrict ANYONE’S choices as what to do with THEIR OWN BODIES.
As far as the pregnancy thing, it’s not fun to have a baby…so it is kind of a punishment.
Ask any teen mother who had to give up their life and dreams because they were stupid and weren’t responsible.

  11. Absolutely. It is common record of his stand on abortion. It is a shame that he thinks of the creation of human life in the womb and a punishment when it is inconvenient or a crisis pregnancy. If his mother thought that way…well, perhaps we would have a different candidate. Children are gifts from God, not a puhisment or incovenince. They help immature adults grow up and face life. They become mirrors of who we are. They teach us more about ourselves than we teach them.

  12. In my opinion, and I don’t think I’m extreme, if a woman chooses to terminate her pregnancy because she is not able to care for her child, why stand in her way? Abortion is a reasonable form of population control. The world is over populated as it is.

  13. So-called “Late-term abortion” is already only used when medically necessary.
What do you have against women that you think a woman should die rather than get a lifesaving operation?
Is saying “no, Congress should not second guess a woman and a trained physician who have to make a terrible life or death choice in a limited amount of time” so awful?
