sleep paralysis or incubus?

i have had a feeling like something was holding me down on my bed, and i couldnt move my body. i would try to open my mouth to talk/scream and no sound would come out. I did not feel an actually person’s body or hands holding me down, but it was very scary. When this feeling happened , i felt like i was being drawn in deeper and deeper into something. i cant explain what that something is. My eyes were opened and i couldnt see anyone , i couldnt move or talk. I am very sure this was not a dream..it happens when i am just about to fall asleep. This “feeling” only released when i said a prayer in my head.

this happened to me 3 times already. So i was wondering could it be sleep paralysis or an actual incubus (sex demon)??????

  • This happened to me a few times. The way it was explained to me, its just a different kind of consciousness. Part of the brain is still resting, while the part that acknowledges being awake and thinking is active. Sometimes different senses are active during this time. For instance, I was able to hear and feel. The easiest way for me to deal with it is to just go back to sleep, and wake up normally.
An interesting way to see which parts of your brain are active is to try testing yourself in basic skills like math, spelling, visualizing pictures, and reciting memorized songs, poems, etc.
I highly doubt this was a sex demon. I’m guessing you’re sleep conditions weren’t ideal? Like how late you stayed up, what you ate/drank, where you slept, and what you did the day before.

  • You have to remember this that what ever an incubus or succubus does is through illusion only… What happen is that they appear when the mind is between states like twilight and full sleep… And that is when their illusions take place……….

  • An incubus (plural incubi) is a demon in male form supposed to lie upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions. Its female counterpart is the succubus. An incubus may pursue sexual relations with a woman in order to father a child, as in the legend of Merlin.[1] Some sources indicate that it may be identified by its unnaturally cold penis.[2] Religious tradition holds that repeated intercourse with an incubus or succubus may result in the deterioration of health, or even death.[3]

Medieval legend claims that demons, both male and female, sexually prey on human beings. They generally prey upon the victim when they are sleeping, though it has been reported that females have been attacked while fully lucid.

The incubus is sometimes confused with the legendary “Old Hag” syndrome. The Old Hag episode, however, is usually restricted to an unpleasant feeling of great pressure on the chest and not a ghostly sexual encounter.

this is from wikipedia, you can read the rest.. i personally don’t believe in this, i think the sleep paralisys can appear even if you’re not fully asleep… i know that sometimes when you wake up, for a second you can actually be still paralised, because that is what the brain does so you don’t move in your sleep and hurt yourself.. and it could be the same when you fall asleep, you become paralised a second before you fall asleep. and i think if you got panicked you may have felt it more intensly. just to be more relaxed about it, ask someone with experience in treating these thins. good luck
