My work friends give me negative energy. What can I do about it?

  1. focus on your work and not on the people. you have enough to do w/o having to worry about them.
put them out of your mind and avoid them at all costs.

  2. Truly, there is no such thing as work “friends”. You are COLLEAGUES, not friends, unless you see them outside of the work environment, (inivte them to your home, etc.).
If you don’t like their negative energy, excuse yourself from them & get on with other things. Negativity draws negativity, not something you want or need in your life.
If they ask you why you’ve distanced yourself, be honest & tell them.

  3. wii yoga. Or just plain old yoga. Build up your own positive energy force field and focus on what you love about your job so that none of that negative energy gets in – then make sure you surround yourself with people after work that have positive energy.
Negative energy can suck the life out of you – don’t even let it in.
Do you have to be friends with the people that you work with? You can be cordial without being a follower and allowing them to bring you down.
Perhaps you can sign up for a fun class at a local community college that does not interfere with your work – then bring your class book with you to work so that you can read your class assignments during lunch instead of feeling like you have to hang out with the bummer crowd. They won’t be offended that you don’t want to spend time with them because you are just working on your assignment.
I strongly believe in our inner energy sources and there are some days when you need every ounce of energy you have – don’t let other peoples negative energy slow you down.

  4. forget about them. slowly draw urself away form them. negative ppl bring negative things. it sort of comes with the package. focus on work adn other important things.
