Meditation – Just my imagination?

(Atheists, Christians, et al – PLEASE withhold your bashing. This is directed to Satanists, Spiritualists, and the like who have experience with meditating and the like.)

I’ve tried meditating for years, and I can bring myself to a calm focus, and do visualizations, but there’s something I just can’t get around.

When I try to do meditations like Past Life Regression, connecting to spirits, etc, I always wonder if the things I see are real “visions” (for lack of a better term) or if it’s just my imagination.

For example, I was visiting my astral temple, and I saw Fenrir (or maybe just a wolf with chains hanging off of it), I think. It said that we had a spiritual bond and that it would be there if I needed it.

Is there a way I can be sure that I when I do meditations like that, I’m not just imagining things?

  • When I think of meditation I think of quieting the mind by focusing on my breathing and watching, and allowing, other thoughts to come up and fade away. I meditate for the purpose of attaining enlightenment through the freeing of my Kundalini. Now I have done visualizations, but I think of those more as hypnosis or imaginative travel. Funny thing is the reason I clicked on your question is last night I clearly felt two distinctive taps on my right shoulder blade as I was in my second session of meditation.

Our reality is a description we give to the present based on biases we have inherited and been indoctrinated with from humanities past. I have discovered that science has missed some aspects of reality yet these are very real to me as I can even photograph these certain paranormal things. I have a University Bachelor of Science degree and have devoured books on life and earth science for my entire life yet where was mention of what I had witnessed?

What we witness is our reality?

PS: I attempted to answer this question out of respect for your curiosity but I do not consider myself included in a group you call Satanists. These types of labels for people are from the same thought paradigm as the one that fails to acknowledge or ignore realities not yet recorded and thus not yet officially sanctioned.

  • As I meditate, I never see visions. However, when I pass some people on the street, I feel their sadness and sometimes I have a flash of someone in my mind and an hour later, I see them. I feel the Holy Spirit is telling me something with this amazing insight. Perhaps when I had the flash of the man in the red electric wheelchair and then I saw him, should I have gone to him and healed him?

I found treasure in my heart. I’m never down because I have the treasure.

Here are some conscience verses that inspire my third eye to open:

    Matthew 6:21-23 (Amplified Bible)
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.
23But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your [a]conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!

    Luke 17:21 (Amplified Bible)

21Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].

    Luke 11:34-43 (Amplified Bible)
34Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye ([a]your conscience) is sound and fulfilling its office, your whole body is full of light; but when it is not sound and is not fulfilling its office, your body is full of darkness.
35Be careful, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness.
36If then your entire body is illuminated, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright [with light], as when a lamp with its bright rays gives you light.
37Now while Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee invited Him to take dinner with him, so He entered and reclined at table.
38The Pharisee noticed and was astonished [to see] that Jesus did not first wash before dinner.
39But the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside you yourselves are full of greed and robbery and extortion and malice and wickedness.
40You senseless (foolish, stupid) ones [acting without reflection or intelligence]! Did not He Who made the outside make the inside also?
41But [dedicate your inner self and] give as donations to the poor of those things which are within [of inward righteousness] and behold, everything is purified and clean for you.

There are many other exciting parables that completely blow the modern church movement away such as the parable of the prodigal son. Surprise, surprise, he wasn’t adopted and we can relate. We’re all just making our way home to our Father, just like the prodigal son! Only one of my friends share this same love for Jesus Christ. The rest love Paul (An apostle who never met Jesus Christ). Many are called, few are chosen — that’s a parable of Jesus Christ too.

  • I meditate often. I am a Spiritualist and the best way for me to tell what I saw is true of not is to go back into the quiet, not necessarily another meditation and reflect on what I just saw. Usually when I do there is a little chill passes through my body when it is definitely true.
Meditation is good for you no matter what you see.

  • I would never discount what you saw. I am sure that you experience exactly what you experienced. I for one, have not had such luck transcending like you have. Just remember: Drugs/alcohol stop working after prolonged use. Prayer and Meditation gets stronger with practice, though.

    Goodluck

  • Any vision has to spring from the imagination. The question is, what triggers the imagination? Is it yourself, or an outside force? Our dreams are a form of vision and the deepest thoughts in our subconscious can trigger the strangest dreams. As a Christian, I learn from biblical visions given to individuals by God, and I understand that when God grants a vision, the person receiving it has not tried to stir one up! The vision grips them forcefully, without any effort on their part. God decides to communicate to them. If you are having to work really hard at conjuring up something, anything, that might be a vision, you can be sure any resulting impression does not come from God.

  • Yes,
try dedicating a Shiva stance and after a while you’ll go in a trance
    When you’re out of it
your vision will be very blury and it’ll feel like you’ve gone days without sleep
Don’t fight the exghaustion but go to sleep
In your sleep you will encounter certain visions and events
These will be things happening in the future….
Wait for them, don’t think much of anything
and if they really do occur….
Then everything is as it should be
    and you’re not imagining….Viola

  • The things seen while in meditation are totemic. No words or language is available in the Nagual because it is outside of our normal experiences. So the next best thing is used to communicate. Symbology. A totem is the description of the nature of an energy. Not the actual thing.

What does Fenrir mean to you. Most totem meaning can be looked up these days, there are plenty of web sites. 🙂

    Practicing Shaman…. quantum physics rocks.

  • Real meditation is all internal. You calm your own mind, you are mindful of your own thoughts, etc; There is no astral plan or talking to spirits or anything like that.
