Here is a simple starter meditation but can also be used for those who have been meditating for a long time. Meditation doesn’t have to be exotic. Simple is just as good. A Simple Meditation Sit upright in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes Breathe in through your nose until you can take no more air and hold for 8 seconds if possible. I think Quixotic’s answer above was pretty good for starters.

If you like a more detailed set of instructions I recommend you check out http://www.mro.org/zmm/teachings/meditation.php. It has a very good and detailed set of instructions on how to do zazen (zen meditation). Zazen is not chakra/kundalini meditation and does not recommend visualizations as does chakra meditation. It is more ‘pure’ meditation in my opinion, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Ok:) Well, meditation is great:) I do it all the time:) First of all your going to need a position. Try one of these: 1. Traditional cross legged. 2. On your knees. 3. Start in the comfort of your own home. Prepare a room by making sure it is tidy and quiet, away from distractions. Make sure you have a comfortable place to sit, I use a mat on the floor of my bedroom. Dim the lights or close the shades if you desire to do so. Begin by focusing on your breath and trying to clear your mind of the chatter. Each time your brain begins to get distracted, gently guide yourself back to focusing only on your breath.
