Love or sex?

Here is a video of a Tantra practitioners opinion. What do you think?

That’s OK Sunman, is the Cosmicdrifter still alive? I love you too brother. I guess he is. : )
The divison in the answers looks to me like this.
1. People, the world, the whole universe is a mistake.
2. Everything is as it should be, love is the answer, sacred sex or the love a couple has for each other can end ignorance. : )

  1. . It’s a longggg, 4-minutes of Boredom!!
    This fool is trying to romantisize ‘love’. Love is just another name for ‘sexual attraction’, just like any animal does. We want to have babies and so to make it sound less animalistic, we call it ‘love’.
    Give me a break.

  2. No…it’s not an ‘either/or’…sex is an expression of love…sex without love is unnatural… there’s no basic difference between love of a parent for a child, brother for a sister, husband for a wife…just different expressions and all love affirms.
    —–oops! I shoulda watched the video first…oh well…I Love You CosmicDrifter.

  3. Sex without love is violence. I agree. Love between a man and a woman includes sex, of course, but the love is the motivation for it. Sex has a goal, orgasm. Loving has no goal but to fulfill itself in Love. There is a huge difference between love and sex.
    “Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
    But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
    To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
    To know the pain of too much tenderness.
    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
    And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
    To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
    To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
    To return home at eventide with gratitude;
    And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.”~Khalil Gibran
    ~That is Love~

  4. Love is a merger of two beings, two hearts, selflessly coming into union to create oneness…sex is selfish and sees separation from the other, it is a “using” for one’s own gratification and involves subject/object. When love and sex meet there is a fulfillment, a celebration of the other as oneself…without barriers or divisions. When love and sex are expressed together as a holy uniting and a mutual orgasmic peak is achieved, then simple duality love becomes Universal Love, Divine Love. for in this moment of bliss, two become one in the One, eternal and divine, and both disappear…there is neither subject nor object. Sex alone, without love and this sacred celebration, lacks true union in the Divine. The two remain separated ego personalities, trapped in the mundane, profane world, each serving self rather than merging as one.

  5. It is a great thought and I have to thank you for giving me a chance to watch the clip.In fact this is why we are born as humans to understand love as the base of sex.But we think that sex is our basic instinct but I say love is our basic instinct .Sex is just one of the impaired expression of Love.What Mr long said is perfect and we have to dig ourselves in realising the Knowledge..

  6. Just one more individual putting out his own ideas…and some one will believe it.
    Getting people to believe is not the problem. The problem is that they will believe anything.

  7. The guy has no idea what real love is. He is a rascal. Sex is for procreation. That is written in all holy scriptures. Anyone who thinks sex is about Love when it is done outside of marriage or not for procreation, is fooling themselves. I understand that God knows what He made sex for better than all these bogus so called sex gurus. Reject the rascals follow What God says. Illicit sex only binds one to the bodily conception of life and one will again have to take another birth in this material world. If we can learn the process of giving up this sex attachment by putting ones love twards God (also known as Krishana, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, Etc., we can be happy and transcend this bodily conception and come to self realization.

  8. is provocative… makes us stop and think about what we think… interesting spin on things… although it is not ours… and we will not adopt it as such… the best lies are almost or are entirely a truth with presentation… personifying love and sex… bah humbug…
    sort of sexiest in how he picks on the woman “she is the prize of existence”…
    “sex is impatient”… for us patience is a last resort weather its in relation to love or sex or anything…
    “sex is false”… what kind of silliness… how can sex be true or false… it is not capable of either it just is… does it motivate some people to be false.?. maybe… but to just go and label it as such is a drastic and unfair exaggeration…
    this whole idea of love vs sex is like hands vs feet they’re not really opposites…
    guess if you look at it as being motivated by love vs sex… bah… still doesn’t buy it it just smells funny to us… like yesterdays outdated fascism…

  9. Sex is good excercise and a great way of helping somebody else enjoy themselves, to share something. If you think love has to be there for sex to be natural or good you are kidding yourself. And it works the other way too. Love does not have to include sex. They are two seperate things that can and often do cross over.
    How many couples have sex because they see it as an obligation and they are afraid the other may leave if they don’t get enough sex? Just because you love somebody does not mean that you have to be happy with your sexual relationship. Nor does it mean you own that person’s body. They are and always will be free to do with their body as they see fit.

  10. I found it difficult to follow his droning presentation but what I did get was rather basic to anyone with any experience with love and sex. I have had sexual experiences where I wished I had just gone home and masturbated. I could have at least imagined some love there. I have also had very nice, caring, loving sex where we were both wanting to please one another. I love spending an entire evening finding her most comfortable rhythm searching for the buttons that I can push to turn her on. As I am writing this it occurs to me that this is much like the answer I gave to another question about acting. Movies or stage? Schmoozing an audience is a loving gesture. This is turning into a bit of a ramble here but now I am reminded of the lyrics to an old song. Nature Boy. I do not know who wrote it but my favorite recording was by Nat King Cole. The Final line says “The greatest thing You’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”

  11. Really cleared up sex within a marriage/committed relationship and affairs or one- night stands- meant a lot to me personally!!!!!! Thanks!
    I do agree that between love or sex- I would prefer to feel loved and needed than just a “goal”.

  12. I think it should be love AND sex. Maybe love can exist without sex but not conversely, otherwise it would be meaningless and our energy wouldn’t be increased but diminished.

  13. Both!
    “Sex,” I agree, is more an animalistic experience, seeking a means to an end; the orgasm. While “making love” is an experience where the animals disappear, and a melding of the hearts, and minds, take place.
    There is no “end” when making love, for it has no defined beginning. Whereas sex is a physical act with a beginning and an ending.
    Both “sex” and “love” (or “making love”) can be separated from each other. But, as I have always believed… they shouldn’t be! Sex, to me, is the animalistic (physical/outer) expression of the soul’s (spiritual/inner) deepest need for union with itself. And it is when the outer and inner “become one” (as above, so below), that true love can be felt.
    And, to me, this feeling is one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had; a paradox by nature… an empty-fullness; a heated-coolness; an energetic-calmness!
