Krishnamurti- Who are you?

In this Question and Answer Session, Jiddu Krishnamurti was asked a question, who are you, though Krishnamurti considers this question as unimportant, as the answer to “who are you” does not matter for people, who he is..?, but the important thing should be who is that person who is asking that question and Hence the self inquiry ” Who am I “.

In this Talks, Jiddu Krishnamurti penetrates Human conditioning or programming of mind. Mystics answer this question by saying I am nobody and Jiddu Krishnamurti said so, Osho once answered the same question by saying “I am pure consciousness”.

  • You are probably right. In your perspective, I would start much more simpler than consciousness. Consciousness requires a very non-brainwashed brain and some basic understanding of logical principles. So yes, it might be retarded to listen to Jiddu if that is your response. lol 🙂

  • Jiddu was born Bhraman , lived bhraman and died bhraman….bhraman is someone who is in search of bhrama, the truth

  • You can only understand this when you choose to be conscious, still.Profoundly beautiful, thank you!

  • it seems to me that he often gets caught up in his own retorics…like, somebody asks him something and then he pulls out like 10 different questions which need to be answered first and after answering them (if he anwers them) he seems to forget what he was asked in the first place… i understand that that kind of approach serves the purpose of truly understanding what he wants to say, but the complexities he seems to introduce often puzzle me 🙂

  • Remember this significant phase: Imagine there is no possession, I wonder if you can. Great teachers who we call enlightened really understood that a man doesnt need a lot of material things to live a happy life, and people”In America” (quoting you), who are still pursuing things to possess them and indulge in them- in my opinion they are not enlightened, path of truth, about yourself and treat money as a tool for doing what should be done- that would be possible when enlightened.

  • There are some people so poor, that they only thing they’ve is money. Unfortunately in America, we are imposing the law of money and greed over honesty, virtue, and humility.

  • Who am I? I am Who. That’s HOO…YE…HOO…WA…HOO…YA…HOO…RA… HOOOOOWEEEE way too many names…. Hoo-AH… OHO…HEY…Bet you didn’t notice… HOHOHO OH OH OH OHO OHO OHO HOH HOH HOH

  • I suppose he just tried to say that in the US the social pressure to gain materialistic value’s is higher than that in India.
    – It doesn’t matter where you are, but who are and what you do what counts.

  • Within the limitation of words: Question: Who are you? Answer: I am me…. one knows, who understands the word… symbols and sounds of something else they are not… your being is now… it is, what it is… Question: What are you? Answer (Within the limitation of words): Human Being…
