Niyama The five “observances” purity, contentment, austerity, study, and surrender to God.
Asana: Literally means “seat”, refers to the seated position used for meditation.
Pranayama “Suspending Breath” to restrain or stop.
Pratyahara “Abstraction” Withdrawal of the sense organs from external objects.
Dharana “Concentration” Fixing the attention on a single object.
Dhyana “Meditation”
SamÄdhi “Liberation”
No that’s not meditating. When you are meditating you are actively engaged in meditating – sitting purposefully with intent not just hanging out. However with practice you can turn any action into a meditation.
Relaxing.
Meditation is something else.
