Is yoga a good substitue for resistance training?

I do not have access to a gym (money and distance) and just own really heavy free weights (from hubby). Dont like those weights anyway, so is yoga a good resistance training or would i have to do more? I dont have much knowlegde of weights either…


  1. Yes, yoga of course is a good substitute:
    Yoga keeps your body strong, as it involves all the muscles in your body to hold and balance yoga asanas (poses). The various yoga postures strengthen your feet, legs, hands, abdomens, lower back, legs, and shoulders.
    Practicing yoga not only keeps your body fit and healthy but also makes your mind active and improves concentration.

  2. Yoga is good for your body and gives you a certain amount of strength. But if you want to gain muscle and looking to build proper strength then weight training is the way to go.
