Only some sea slugs, a group called Sacoglassans, are capable of it. And they basically just extract chloroplasts from the algae the consume, so they don’t produce chloroplasts or chlorophyll themselves.

This act of taking plastids from algae and plants is called kleptoplasty

phytoplankton, they are tiny little microscopic “animals” found in the top layer of the ocean. They contain chrolophyll and obtain their energy through photosynthesis.

No, only plants have the ability to photosynthesize.
